LOL

Rob you need to be a member to get the benefits

But to answer your point

We have arranged with our partners both MLR and Trackmasters Track days throughout the year and have very good take up

The days we organise with the MLR are available via the SIDC Shop

The TrackMaster Events are bookable direct and SIDC Members get the discounted rates

Hope that helps

10% discount on labour at a service and a magazine which I never ever received is the reason I never renewed.

MLR get shed loads more for their membership and we even need them to get a decent discount.

We should have better links with Prodrive and Subaru UK in general and get more discounts on track days and rolling road days and the like.

What does the SIDC surplus get spent on???

IIRC the full GP circuit at Brands is £26k to hire for the day - hence the reason they won't discount (as they are rare and know they will fill the spaces) - and also the reason it is very difficult for anyone to organise a full day - I certainly wouldn't take on that liability.

An idea for a track to hire for an ESC day might be Lydden Hill - sure they do trackdays there and the costs should be very reasonable too.

Phil - I'll look into it as a future option.

Cheers

Terry

You never got the magazine? why didn't you say and I would have checked why

What more do they get?

The reason why we are jointly offering track days is to maximise discounts obtained and to ensure a good quality field

We have arranged SWRT events for the past 4 years with Prodrive

We have discounted Membership of SWRT Fan Club

We continue to forge links with Subaru UK and indeed have another meeting this month

As for track days I have already covered this

Rolling Roads are always sorted locally it and good deals are always achieved by the organisers

Any Surplus is carried forward and used to purchase items such as Flags, Marquee's, banners, flyers etc

Hope that clarifies

banners, marquees, stickers, keyrings and other incidental items add no value to members - just makes stands look nice at shows.

Why not subsidise a track day at Bedford and offer it to your members for £100???

Use it to give us all discounts or subsidies at somewhere like Demon Tweeks.

Something better than access to websites, quarterly magasines, access to show stands, a tax disc holder/sticker etc etc etc.

What was the cash surplus for 2004/2005????

I feel that my membership money was worth it, for purely the enjoyment i had out of the shows that the SIDC had involvement in.

So much so I will be handing Phil another £30 for next years membership when i see him next

But it does encourage New membership ensuring Membership fees stay low

Because we are a NATIONAL CLUB and offering a subsidised event at any ONE track would be unfair to other members

Discounts are available at Many Suppliers check the Magazine

Check the Minutes of the AGM Published in TG and the Members Area

But I can assure you there isn't enough to pay for a Track Day remember we operate on a Non Profit Basis

If you feel you can run the club better than the current committee or indeed add something to the club please feel free to stand at the next AGM

so how much did the track day in February cost then? It was offered to members at £100 so if the track costs £26,000 for full circuit, even if it was only the indy circuit used there is still a big hole?

Why does it cost £320.00 now, not even through the SIDC, but in February it was £100 (for the indy I know) through the SIDC.

Doesn't make sense.

This relates to the thread so is on topic.

re: your comments about the SIDC surplus: I'll just get the info from the public domain then seeing as it's not going to be freely offered.

Rob

This does not relate to the proposed date in June for the Full GP Circuit

HOWEVER

I will answer this last question on this thread but if you wish further info please post in either another thread or on the SIDC

GP Circuit £25k

Indy Circuit £5-6k depending on time of year

As you can see the Indy circuit is considerably cheaper so no hole in the accounts. as I managed to secure a nice discount for Febs event

Now I won't answer anymore non related questions on this thread NEW THREAD here or SIDC I don't Care BUT NOT HERE

so why don't we have an indy circuit day then instead of a £320 full circuit with no discount... if you can secure it for that little and then a discount on top then you must be able to do it regularly throughout the year. I bet you get a hell of a lot more people if you do it for £80 - £100

Something isn't right about the finances but that is glaringly obvious seeing as you won't disclose the surplus figure on here. In any case if you don't want to discuss it then that's fine with me. Just like having the full picture!!

Ok should clarify ... the TRACK finances and the surplus between the full circuit and indy!

Phil, I really appreciate you posting and organising this event. I didn't see the issue with the costs, as i can appreciate the costs & logistics of trying to organise such an event.
I do appercate that by posting and getting interest for this, i can enjoy the event amongst friends (What i thought the ESC & SIDC stood for).

I'm hoping that i will see other memebers joining me, but either way, i know i'll have a great time!

FFS

BECAUSE THIS THREAD IS ABOUT A FULL GP CIRCUIT WHICH IF I RECAL CORRECTLY YOU WERE INTERESTED IN http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=495066

The SIDC has many track events with its partners this year we will add more if we consider it financially viable

and for your information we still struggled to get the numbers in Feb even at that price

Do you really think you are grown up?? Why is it that when you log on scooby net you always try and cause a debate or argument, if you have a problem with the cost would it not be better for you to send Phil a PM, surly that is what most Grown up people do.

Which is a defamatory statement

I have explained the cost difference between Indy and GP Circuits which you can check out on MSV's website if you wish

Now if you wish to call me I will happily invite you round and show you all the paperwork including last years income and expenditure statement

PMSL ... you ask a perfectly valid question about the logistics of why 320 this time and through a third party vrs 100 in feb through the SIDC itself and I get told to grow up.

If loads and loads of people are prepared to pay £320 then cool ... have a wonderful day!
