Cars and women is not mutually exclusive. Well I say that, but if you're married then thats something else. All it needs is for the ladies to have their own indepedence and bank accounts - that way the are not sponging off the blokes.

Wasn't there a review recently of what men talk about - it was only 4 subjects for men, (1) cars (2) football (3)women/sex (same thing, oops) (4) beer.

Women had 40+ subjects they talked about - this is a good correlation to their phone bills I guess.

Better go, I've got shed loads to do before I go away on my hols.

I have yet to see anyone put down any numbers for income, you all say an average wage? what is average?

20K a year? Higher or lower please. Just give us a ball park.

I would love to own a scooby, but am on a average wage(?) and am about to take out a 100K mortgage, and have small child. Any suggestions, whith out going into the local bank with a sawnoff shotgun and asking nicely?

40+ subjects? Thats explains a lot.

It also helps if your girlfriend/wife has an interest in cars/motorsport too. It makes my life much easier.

Very rare that you get a girl who knows about motors, they can however advise on colour and style of transfers (graphics) on the side of the car. Once spoke to a dealer and told him his cars are crap as he has loads with silly graphics on them. He laughed at me and told me a story of how many cars he sold to women because of the colours and type of graphics - that said it all to me. Women could buys cars with no wheels, no steering wheel and no engine just cos it looks nice. I'm not being a male chauvinist or owt (well tell me if I am) but I bet you most gals would not know what a scooby is.

Ma lady can put the Scoob sideways through roundabouts. Maybe she should visit that garage and take him out for a test drive.

Nexus, salary is not that important dude. But I too think I earn only an average wage, my mates would say different. But the fact my mortgage is only £261 per month means I have a lot of disposable income, which is the key thing.

Ash 1,

Can't let u get away with that

Guess what? I'm a woman (with my own bank account!) and not only do I know what a scoob is, but I've got one which I chose and bought myself, not for its pretty colour (boring dbm) or for its graphics (none) or for its stunning good looks (wagon), but for its performance and handling (STi) and for the sheer thrill it gives me to drive it!! I have also put on a scoobysport exhaust and 17" anthracite rims (not pretty gold ones!) and have just fitted a boost guage myself...ok it doesn't actually work yet, but I'll get there eventually!!

Ok, I rose to the bait - but I enjoyed it!

Lizzy, you're the perfect woman ! Are you a fast lady too?

I knew it was a case of lighting the blue touch paper and standing back - quite approrpriate considering bonnie night is round the corner.

I was perhaps generalising too much - for sure there are gals out there that like cars - after all you have 40 subjects of conversation and men have 4, so I assume that your 40 will also cover cars too.

I agree with Lizzy I have my own bank account and my scoob is mine and mine alone. I would never dream of letting a man buying me a car I prefer being independent ta.

Yeah I rose to the bait too, but it really does annoy me attitudes like that.

Yes but I am a muppet, any thread like that taken seriously by someone should have the following punishment issued to them

Being locked up in a room in front of a projector screen playing clips of max powered motors with the mellow tones of a Take That tape on continuous repeat whilst having ones feet tickled over a duration of several days

does that explain things?

Cmon Michelle/Lizzy you know I'm generalising - its obvious that you ladies are exceptions to the norm (creep, creep), but generally women don't know what scoobs are. Most of them don't care about cars anyway. Its a strong subject for lads - just look at the bbs and see how many car nuts are on this site.

I'm going to post a thread on a very interesting debate I have with my mates about men and motors. They're always going on about why I bother with a scooby when I could pull the birds in a porsche boxter for the same kind of money. Like I need a car to do that (ha,ha).

The guys at where I work won't tolerate me going on about my scooby, so I have to visit here more often to get my fix

I must be the exception again cos if you turned up in a Porsche I wouldn't batter an eyelid, Porsches don't impress me!

Well this Topic is getting longer and longer!!!!!

I too am like many of you out there.....

I don't earn great money (Work for NHS)therefore i can only afford a Legacy, however after £500 of mods it stays with post 97 WRX's with not to much problem.

However i can see i will be getting a Impreza next year, (import) direct from Japan, this is still the cheapest way (example: 2 door 97 WRX £6500 incl all duties)<<<<<<BARGAIN.

Oh yeh.... forgot to say that i also have a Legacy Rally car, i think there is something about the legacy (Cheaper)

Red face

First off, no one works harder than Doctors and Nurses in NHS hospitals. What those amazing people put up with is beyond me.

Second, i have done the work hard thing, 16 hour days for 2 years etc. I now do the work smart thing. That doesnt mean i dont work hard, i do, but i dont kill myself.

I know a cossie powered car that gets michelle going. LOL

I also know loads of women who love scoobs and who drive the wheels off them. They are just as capable as the blokes. Some kick the crap out of them. (the blokes that is)

I gave up worrying about that years ago Birdy.

You know what they say about blokes with slightly aerodynamic features. Cheeper on the shampoo costs. More dosh for the SUL LOL

At this rate i'll be keeping the westie. The market is a bit toss right now.
