You were one of the lucky ones. Or you didn't use it much.

From the way your commenting it sounds like you work for Microsoft. And before you ask, no I don't work for any of the big UNIX/LINUX comapnies.

The only reason it may sound biased and negative, is due to having to support and fix issues with those operating systems through out the years I have worked in I.T. I must admit though that Microsoft are getting things together, and I am lucky not expeience many problems with Win 2K and XP products.

Used it every day, both at home and at work as a software developer writing software for MDSOS, all flavours of windows (from 3.0 through to XP) and Unix (aix, sco, and Linux).

Not at all. I agree that Linux is a very nice operating system, as is osx on the Mac. It's just that I'm not blinkered into slagging of MS all the time. It gets very tiring when people constantly do this without acknowledging that the other systems have also had a great deal of problems over the years.

Nope, I just believe all the operating systems should be evaluated on their merits, and not on established predudices.

I admit that from a support perspective that tey tend to get more calls from owners of windows operating systems, but seeing as they have the majority of the market share, that's hardly surprising. From my experience, in writing software for these systems, they all have their own problems, it's just that the MS ones always seem to be more publicised...

Nope. I can honestly put hand on heart and say I never got a blue screen in 95 or 98. I got quite a few in ME, and I got one or two in NT3.5 and 4, but they were down to dodgy drivers rather than an OS problem.

Default Vista requirements announced

MS have released the minimum spec requirements for Vista. My guess is that it will work with this level of kit, but most of the cool visual stuff will be disabled:

It'll be interesting to see what the tests come out like.
