Emotion Hell no, on a serious note, everyone of them has a serious character defect, as do you !! However, this would have been a very different year without external help...yours included.

Reshelling the car again. Rather than the needs/must job mid season I intend building a proper fit for purpose job this time. Picked up the new shell today, plenty of work in front of me now over the winter. I was expecting a bare shell but was pleasantly surprised by the amount of useful stuff left on the shell. Dash, 'full' wiring loom, pedal box, master cylinders, side windows, etc....
Oh and it also included most of the things under the dash that would be connected to the loom.
This is where Graham throws a hissy fit and takes me off of his christmas card list.... again

Then why not fabricate a small 'sprint' tank and mount it in the same place as the road tank (assuming you trailer the car to events)
It will be safe down there, and you can use the factory cover plate/pipes etc and the Scrutes will be impressed!

Specific Regs in the Scottish championship are quite liberal compared to Blue book.

Mmmm:
Maybe in the STOCK road class you do keep the original tank, but not sure, happy reading of the Blue Book!
A friend used to hillclimb an RA and had a Powerstation swirl-pot added in the engine bay and he could run on much less than 1/4 tank.
I need 1/2 on some hills, especially Loton Park.
Lost a class 2nd place to that surge

Update time I guess, due to the new parental responsibilities I have made V little progress with the new shell so intend starting this season using the current car..... with a few tweeks
Power wise the car should be similar to the end of last season, but drive train and suspension will be a little different. I reckon I have a little more weight to lose off of the car too.
Mr Forrest did a sterling job re-mapping the car for my last event last season after the turbine housing was changed for a 0.63 housing from Lateral Performance, transformed the car, so maybe not quite the same power wise

That's a bit of a light up-date!
Have your tyre rules changed for 2008?
I will be running real AVONS for the first time this year, in 3 weeks time to be precise....do i have the nerve to drive it faster on them?
Will miss the Kumho V70's for sure, simply brilliant 1B tyre.
You need to pop down and sort the Quattro V8 out!

Had the car out for the first time at Kames yesterday, a place I know well, so a good testing environment for me, though with only 4 runs not to much can be acheived bearing in mind this was competition.
I spent Thursday/Friday/Saturday removing/replacing the rear running gear and Gearbox.
Fitted the car with an R180 rear end from a bugeye and DCCD to the Gearbox.
Twiddled a bit with the DCCD settings in practice then left it alone for the timed runs.
Managed an 86.94 on my second Run taking 0.48 out of the track record, so a pretty good result to start the season on.
I'd gone quicker in practice but the Wastegate flange weld sprang a leak so wasn't making boost target, but Hey Ho a result is a result.

Simon, Quaife ATB up front and now a Suretrack in the rear.
Andy, 'Qualifying Map' awesome, it was difficult to quantify at Alford, but at Kames I know what happens where, or I did ....it's all happening much earlier now
The car is ballistic out of a second gear bend

Be good to see you this year, I'm not taking the Hills championship seriously this year as parental duties must be considered, so concentrating on the sprint Championship, might be at fintry, but only if it suits family commitments/work.
P.S. your timing of the KH Trackday in May is poor this year, week after my Sprint there and clashes with Kames, you really must do better

Pretty sure you are not the Jinx John, I recon it's my brother-in-law (Dyce) car always breaks when he's around.

We've also got 15th September if that's of any interest to you ?
Won't make Doune this weekend, but should be along to Alford and Fintray, and possibly even Golspie.
Cheers
John

John I hope you realise my comments about KH were tongue-in-cheek
I hope to do TOTB (if picked) so won't be at KH the day before. I would be taking the family to York so the logistics of decanting a 13 month old make things more difficult than chucking a car on the trailer at KH and heading for York. I will endeavour to get to one of the SIDC days at some point, I find the atmosphere at these very pleasant/relaxed and the track manners/time excellent. Saying that, I may be at KH TA to observe or assist if anyone needs it. Not having a commercial interest in doing well in TA I don't think it is value for money, it is just sprinting at a greatly inflated price (I realise this is directly atributable to the cost of the circuits being used, not having a dig at organisers).
Really looking forward to Doune, going without agenda this year so will spend the time trying to gain some data for setting the car up and moving the transmission towards being fully active. Hopefully I will have achieved this before KH Sprint.
If you can make it up to Golspie (I'm assuming with Eric) it's a great weekend with an excellent social element, I'm sure you would enjoy it.
