As far as I was aware the ariel is on the A pillar on uk cars and it's in the rear screen on sti's and imports. Mine has it in the read screen and originally from Ireland.

Thanks mate, just proves you learn something new everyday

Mine is a 53 plate bugeye so is one of the last which would explain why it's in the rear screen.

Speak to IM, they probably have details of all the Imprezas and when they were registered in the UK, as long as it isnt an import.

Nope! The bucket seats weren't guaranteed on later models either.
My Y reg bug WRX had airbag seats which I swapped for buckets out of a X reg bug WRX!

And it has an external aerial.
Search for external aerial on here and you should find my thread on it.

To solve the mystery, no UK bug STI should have an external aerial, nor any of the cars released after it came out. Read Shaun's post (last in that thread)

Evening all

I owned a bugeye many years ago and loved it. Was over the moon when I found the only photos even taken of it.

Does anyone know if this is still around? Hopefully in 1 piece, with a happy owner

Looks like it is still on the road, from the DVLA website:

Date of Liability 01 01 2012
Date of First Registration 30 11 2001
Year of Manufacture 2001
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1994CC
CO2 Emissions 242g/Km
Fuel Type Petrol
Export Marker Not Applicable
Vehicle Status Licence Not Due
Vehicle Colour BLUE
Vehicle Type Approval M1

Is it blue? It looks black in the pics.
