Forget anything about its other merits but consider this.
Took our Sept 04 54 reg in to the garage for quote against a low mileage Octavia estate
Paid £11800 when new ,offered £10000 p/ex.

Rabid,
I agree, however many other things in life are enjoyable other than cars and unless you are a lottery winner you cant really do them all, I for one dont want to run a car that soaks up 25% of my income every month, hence why I dont have a Scoob.

If a few hundred pounds a month isn't much to you then that's fine, for alot of people it is. I probably am poor though considering I have wasted £30000 on cars through depreciation in the last few years and £5000 was lost in 6 weeks once........so yeah I probably am poor if the definition is someone who is losing a great deal of money........... Not any more though.......

A friend of mine once had £27k to spend on a car and decided against our advice of a 2nd hand 911 at the time, as he "wanted a new car"... so he wisely bought a Fiat Coupé Turbo, which is now worth about a quid. I think the Porsches available at the time are selling for the same money still!
