I'm there again this year, driving a van down though, want a bit of comfort on site, 50" TV, Sofa, occasional table and mood lighting. The new road is open from Rouen to Le Mans direct, 24 euros, speed cameras on the new bridge, when you see the camera sign they mean it.

I am going, staying away from the track but will be there for Mad Friday and the race.

If this year is like last year keep an eye on your temps as I saw 42c in Arnarge last year and we all know how much subarus dont like warm air on their ICs...

I reckon Audi will walk all over everyone with their Diesel motor too

i think that audi will do it again this year too, the pescalaro team should give them a good push again this year. One of our group from a few years ago is now part of the Chamberlin Synergy Team so i will be supporting them!

Have the french police now got wise to speeders?

We tend to go along the traditional route on the way there, are there only fixed cameras on the new road?

Not sure about 3 hours, but a couple could be possible if you hammer it. I drove from Poitiers last weekend, normally takes seven and a half hours through Le Man to Calais, did it in about six but was cruising, saving petrol. You still have to navigate Rouen, but that's it.

There do seem to be more speed cameras on 'normal' routes, I got flashed - in the face! - on a small road just outside Poitiers and saw many more.

Re the froggy dibble - they tend to set up traps on the D139, D307 and E502 on Friday. These roads are quite close to the track though so you would expect it. I have never seen a speed trap on the A28/29, but we do Wed to Wed so we miss a lot of the convoys.

What's the issue with the French speed cameras/radars, I thought they don't prosecute cross-border yet?

Fingers crossed they don't. I'll no doubt put up a message if something arrives in the post.

Yeah, you don't want to get caught like that but cameras are irrelevant I thought at the moment.

Static cameras are not enforceable, BUT the UK has just signed up to a new scheme for co-operation with foreign police on speeding fines. The frog BiB will (as of next year) be able to request your details via the DVLA and they will post the fine to you for payment. Its a fine only scheme at the moment though, so you wont get points.

If you get stopped by a BiB you have to pay the fine, if the speed is very high they can confiscate your car - but only seen this done a few times where speeds have been very high.

Worth noting that the frog traffic cops have just got a load of WRXs...
