Tony.
Hi Tony, the original units were as you say a conventional LCD, we had a few problems with the LCD's being affected by extremes of temperature ( as is normal for LCD's ) we decided to look at the alternatives and ended up with the more expensive VFD version we now offer and the Negative Mode extended temperature range LCD as shown in the pictures on this thread.
We and most of our customers so far prefer the newer LCD, i pushed we can still offer the older type LCD though at no extra cost.

Cheers Simon,

I'll give you a ring in the morning and discuss it. But if you could get those pics of the yellowy display up tonight that would be great, may just order that if it looks ok.

Tony.

Slightly off topic, but as for front speaker components, what would you recommend for a MY00 with the minimum of hassle fitting wise?

I did a bit of research and the Infinity 605CS (think that was it?) used to be the daddies apparently - what are their replacements, or are there better Kenwoods etc. for similar outlay (£100 ish)?

At the moment not interested in amps/subs etc., have replaced the HU with a pretty good Sony. I have heard that a good component set for fronts can drastically increase sound quality?

Cheers,

Ian.

Could've sworn I'd posted this before... but it's gone!

Just to say thanks to Simon for all his help - received the monitor really quickly, and it was an absolute breeze to fit - took all of 10 minutes.

Looks fantastic too (imho).... and loads of lovely stats for me to get paranoid about!

I can only agree with simebaby, I paid for my unit yesterday afternoon by bank transfer and it turned up at 10:45am this morning!!

I fitted it in 15 minutes and also have loads of lovely stats to get paranoid about!

Simon, just a quicky. I had the senders for OP & OT fitted a few weeks ago ( the ones I spoke to you about & got from Knowlesy) & since fitted the speed reading is over reading? Max speed recorded is up to 50 - 70mph over true speed? Any ideas please?

thanks Simon

Hi Simon, it sounds as if the user setting for MPH reading has been changed.
There are various options to allow for imported cars with speedo converters fitted, and for cars reading in KM, ( options are MPH, MPH +C, KM, KM +C )
If your car is a UK car change it to MPH, or if an import MPH +C, if you still have problems let me know.

Simon, just a quicky, the KCAW25, how does that wire into a head unit? I have a Kenwood KDC-W6031 head unit, will it fit ok & does it charge the Ipod as well?

cheers Simon
