Why are your kids playing in the street? Isn't that somewhat dangerous? The garden or the park are far safer. Dual carriageways are particularly inappropiate play areas.

Sod the wheels, get the engine modded to f*ck and then it'll be a total sleeper. With an aero or the likes people expect it to be half decent but that looks bog basic from the outside. I often had wet dreams of supercharging my 406 V6 for that reason as passing M3s in a £2k pug barge would have its entertainment merits.

There's always one loon. "Think of the children" on a 70 limit where I presume it's a pedestrian free zone. Simpson character sums it up perfectly, nagging interfering windbags.

Only so they can compensate for their inferiority complex.

If it was up to these people we'd sit on bean bags all day watching end to end Blue Peter programmes, eating liquified vitamin meals and wearing bubblewrap clothing.

By the same token where does it say in the original post there were kids about and in a built up area. You're the one who was jumping to conclusions.

THINK OF THE CHILDREN!?!?!?

Hang on.....wasn't I driving along the other day when a toddler ran out into the road because her ******* stupid, dimwitted, should-have-a-license-to-breed parents were too busy chatting to keep an eye on their child?

It's not the kids fault, it's the parents.

I used to play on the street when I was younger and there wasn't that many cars about....now it's a different story.....
So how about this........stop your feckin kids playing on the streets.....teach them how to cross a road........try to bring them up with common sense and get on with it

I took my kids to school this morning and some tool in a Pug 306 XSI came hairing down the side road that allowsa access to the school gates, probably about 40 in a 30 which in reality at that time of day should be a crawl, so as to not alert the kids he got a silent gesture, as I said a time and a place, nice on you Struv for reassesing your comments, we all need challenging occasionaly about our behaviour to make us think, me I mean as something that can seem ok at the time maybe isnt, this time perhaps it was.

I am not modding it externally, under no illusions its an aging cheap Saab that has one trick, i.e. being quick enough to trouble some of the modern hot hatches, a chip may be in order but I might be changing job so it will be a Fabia VRs as I will be doing a longer journey and will need better that 28 mpg, also not sure whethre the rest of the drivetrain would cope, plus those skinny tyres will just vapourise in seconds with 225 bhp.

I also think that when you see a bloke in a rep mobile that has been modded it is perhaps the saddest cry for help on the planet, Vectra's with Motorsport stickers and Lexus lights, it doesnt make it look better, it makes it look worse and draws attention to it.

Yep, sounds nice, the Viggen wheels are lovely, however spending a grand on it isnt really an option as we need several things for the house that take precedence over cars and car parts, hence why I am driving it in the first place !

700 quid went on a bloody washing machine the other week, the dog has cost 45 quid so far this week, tutor for the kids, the list goes on and on and on.

Bit late arent you, Struv kind of softened his line a little having re read the posts, his point was valid about being a **** in a car when kids are about though.

Another convert to a Fabia vRS

I appreciate some of the comments about ********* doing excessive speeds near schools - our local primary school now has a part-time 20 mph limit outside. It doesn't seem to work Why don't the local Feds take a scamera van there, instead of doing people for 80mph on the bypass

And where the outlaws stay in Inverness is a wide, flat, straight road through the middle of a housing scheme. It has a 20 mph limit (not mandatory - a "20's plenty" one). On Friday and Saturday nights it sounds like the feckin pit straight at Knockhill
