Dont forget about me, since owning my MY03 I've been to meets in a Renaultsport Clio Cup 172 and a Honda Civic Type-R. Both great cars in their own ways. Ive never been made to feel anything other than a SMACS member over my 2 years without a scooby.

beefy, I saw your ctr once in all the time you had it In your 2 years without a scooby, we've hardly seen you at all, and now you've got one again, only andy and martin have seen you!
But you're still a SMACS original member, and the reason why I'm now a proud owner of the car I have. I was inspired to get one when following you on the EVO triangle back in 2003. I remember you'd just had your ppp fitted, and pulled away from me on the first day of the tour Happy days!
Here you are talking to barnesy (another SMACS stranger) while gav does his thang!

That EVO tour was one of the best drives Ive ever had in any car. Absolutely brilliant, and a good laugh to boot. The scenery was excellent. Looking forward to the next one (hopefully should get the PPP fitted in the summer if all goes well)

EVO & Mid Wales planned for later in the year. Did a mid-Wales Reccie back in Feb, outstanding roads! Did you see the pics?

Hmmm... I moved on from my gorgeous scoob (albeit a Sport) mainly due to fuel costs and not having enough cash to move up to WRX/STi. So... current motor is a remapped Furby turbo diesel with loads more bhp and torque than the sport A fantastic litte motor it is.
Thanks CW42 for keeping me on the club list, altho I've not made it to many meetings (the 1st Evo run was great, as was the trip up and Raid across the border a couple of years ago )
Will try to make it to a Thursday meet soon.

After my suspension mods, that is the ongoing area I'm concentrating on. I have a car that is capable of beating just about anything else on road or track, it's just me that lets it all down

Thanks for the kind words (if "nutter" and "bast4ard" are kind words ) and there are times when the car is pushed. I guess I am at my best leading from the front down "unknown" single tracks. That's when I feel most at one with the car and more in control actually than when following.
Carl has oodles of natural talent and comes into his own on similar road types to me. He's a joy to drive with and any SMACS member could do worse than follow him.
Super has improved massively over time and is also a joy to follow. The track days I guess are making the difference and I think we would have an interesting time comparing our times around a track like Oulton. I'm no slouch around a track but uneven, unknown single tracks seem to suit me.
Anyway, none of us would have any idea what our cars could do if we hadn't followed the other guy one day and thought "jeez, I didn't know it could be that quick through there...".
Probably the most important point and the boring one, but one that I find is a major reason for attending run outs is the fact that SMACS obey the 30,40 and 50 limits. The place and time to push on is not easily found, but the routes we take allow that on occasion and the balance of responsible driving and all out boost is a testament to the ones (Super et al) that find them. Top stuff.

We have never discriminated against other performance cars before so why should we get into this debate now?
NWMark with his Audi has always been welcome as have MissyC when she changed cars, I nealy bought the Evo or an Elise so thought I would have been still invited. also problemchild was welcome with open arms in his Elise. As I am sure Darren will be with his Elise!
I for one will be around for at least 3 years as thats how long I intend keeping the latest car
Long live the smacs

I know Oulton quite well now, so would be interesting - but in the same car I am sure you would easily beat me. However, the gap would be much smaller than it was, say, three years ago.
