VXR lapping the ring in 8.05BTG
#151
g'day all
another VXR owner but pushing out in excess of 290bhp very easily, forgot everything you read or heard about the VXR during press trials or TG,
the production model is in a different league to the models currently hitting the streets (i have driven both pre and production), pre production had a different mapping and suspension to the UK spec models TG had a model sitting on SRi spec underpinnings so yeah much more torquesteer and it does make a difference, all i am saying is dont underestimate the VXR just because it is FWD hatch as you may be in for a suprise, thats all im saying, 300bhp can be obtained for less than £1800 which is nothing more than a full exhaust and a simple remap, now getting that power down?, it can, with the improved power delivery from the remap im having little problem finding traction , not to the extent of an awd but for a fwd its impressive, so trust me the VXR is a fun car to drive, its hard, raw and on the edge but if my wife can handle the little torquesteer it throws out i doubt many would have trouble with the VXR if given time to really appreciate what it is capable of, not a car you can easily master from a spin around the block, it takes some time to know its true potentials.
The OPC lap of the ring was a stock standard car, Evo mag has also recorded a time of 8min35sec for the VXR.
im not hear to stir things up, just to give you guys some feedback from a VXR owner

in car telemetry is good to watch

The VXR is the chavs choice
A VXR is a pretty capable and quick hatch, a WRX/STi is a pretty capable and fairly quick saloon. Both are good on road, both are pretty average/poor on track.
For those who mention how badly the VXR did on 5th and Top Gear, I don't recall the WR1 doing particularly well either........

Can you post the link to that source, that list is far from complete and i honestly do not believe that an M3 is only a second quicker than a VXR

Exactly. Shows these fanboys will belive anything about their beloved VXR.
Even if it wasnt wrong wheel drive and the power was being put down through the rears the VXR would be nowhere close to the M3.

Gonna have to catch me first in it
Plus you'd have to take the money off me
and why would I find myself in a vauxhall?
I sold mine to progress......why would I take a step back?
