VXR lapping the ring in 8.05BTG

Quote from alloy "for which the STi and VXR sit are performance ones. with repect to track cars i am unaware of many track cars that have remained as they did when they left the factory! In that respect the Impreza is a better buy"
I agree the STI is probably a better buy, but certainly not the WRX. But then again the STI does cost about £7K more than the VXR.

I cant see what all the fuss is about. Im not surprised the VXR did this time. It seams about right for the power and weight its got. STI has only 265PS so it should only be slightly faster and it is. Whats the problem with that????

The impreza isn't a rally car?
An impreza is a 4wd saloon car, nothing more.
You can tell your friends down the pub what you like of course.

I just got back from lunch, and drove a VXR for the first time. A friend from work let me have a blast in his.
Lovely motor. Obviously can't really comment on handling/brakes but it does shift!!
Would take one over a scoob any day. Reason? They are more less common, look better and are screwed together better. the looks are advanced and modern, unlike the scoob which looks like a cross between a Chrysler Neon and Daewoo Nexia.

VXR very nice car indeed, and it's performance is near STI level and far superior to it's natural challenger, the WRX.

Totally agree, when will manufacturers get it into their heads that simple laws of physics put a stop to how much power can be put through a front wheel drive chassis (no matter how good it is)
To make a VXR a true point to point missile Vauxhall need to make it 4wd
Imagine a VXR with 300bhp+ and 4wd - it would steal sales from Subaru like no tommorrow

You'd like to see another 4 wheel drive Vauxhall? Do you own a company making transfer boxes?

its competition is also the focus ST dont you forget. The VXR is the chavs choice. Nevermind the depreciation hits it will take over the weeks and months.
A bloody good car is the Golf GTi and the Focus ST and the VXR will have some stiff competiton very soon from a influx of new better reputated hot hatches.
Plus the VXR name is cheap. Theres also a Meriva VXR and some other mpv type vxr. Its not very sporting exclusive.

That is quite appealing for a whole host of reasons.

Not really rally cars......
One if the rules about "that" really series is that the car has to be in main production....(wording obviously off, but you get my point)
No I either spend my time drinking or telling them how many muppets are on SN

Are we saying here that the words "Impreza", "WRX" and "Turbo" are exclusive words in comparison??

It grips through the corners, or you can choose to break that traction for a little controlled power slide action, it wont tourque steer you into the bus stop full of OAPs, it wont understeer as much as a VXR, it gives the driver so much confidence and to drive one of these to it's potential is still challenging and when you crack that the world is your oyster....

"At the end of the day it's a Vauxhall", sorry - I forgot about the Quedos associated to the marque that is Subaru.
