They do have a purpose.

They're intended to clear the lines that carry the nitrous to the jets without the nitrous entering the engine.

However, the run of the mill chav will not have any interest in this kind of function.

That doesnt explain their purpose, why "clear" the lines of n2o using yet more n2o?

Two reasons;

1) Stops potention blockages
2) Freezes the lines so the nitrous is as cold as possible - giving more power

Blockages?? Somethings seriously wrong if you can block a hose with compressed gas!

And wont it be cold as soon as the solinoids open in the engine bay and the gas begins to condensate in the hoses again?

Come on we all know its just for show Next you'll be telling me 19" wheels make your car handle better and go faster

Just going with what I was told by a guy I spoke to who supplied kits. He explained it far better than me and it did make alot of sense when he told me. Much more science involved that you'd imagine, but most of it went over my head.

He wasn't trying to sell me any, he was supplying a few kits to a shop I happened to be in at the time - I just decided to try and picks his brains and ended up more confused than when I started, and shocked at the mark-up the shop was going to put on the kits!

Not sure but we have someone else to quiz now

Bad bad thought but maybe we should devote a thread to asking bizarre questions to ebay sellers for those with the dodgy adverts.

Terrible i know but there could be some commendable answers.

That's hardly a problem with the "WATER RESEVARE" as he put it. More like "the radiators fooked!"

Ahh, does it purge the NOS lines with CO2.

So, he is lying, trying to cover up a water leak by pretending its a purge kit.

what a prat.

Did you actually read any of these posts?

He is a car dealer. He admitted openly in an email response that he hates Scoobs as they are rubbish, he knows nothing about them and only bought it to sell on. He is also selling two other cars on eBay.

So actually he is a car dealer by DTI definition which would probably make him a fraud and a cheat as he is probably not paying tax and certainly not offering any warranty.

So we may be pretentious, however in this case there would seem to be some cause.

It was a sight to behold with it's hazard lights flashing and sitting 6' off the bumper of the Jag that was towing it!

A nitrous purge kit is a functional device, used almost exclusively when quarter miling. While you're sitting in the staging lanes, you've got your bottle valve open and you've got unused nitrous sitting in the lines all the way up to the solenoids. However these lines pick up a little heat all the way along the car, and in the engine bay especially, they get warm enough so that instead of liquid nitrous oxide sitting in there ready for firing, you've got vapour, just like when your bottle's almost empty, which is pretty much good for nothing.

So, you get staged, purge your lines which vents this nitrous vapour out to atmosphere, causing pressurised liquid N2O to fill up the lines. As long as you launch fairly soon after purging you've got a good liquid nitrous charge ready for firing, which can also still carry out its secondary purpose of vapourising on its way through the inlet and taking heat out of the overall charge.

But admittedly venting CO2 to make it look like a nitrous purge is lame.

Fair point if a little forcibly made. Whenever an Impreza comes along that does not conform to certain people's ideology then it inevitably incurs the wrath of the 'Scoobynet Posse'. This has occured on several occasions now and methinks there will be certain members of this posse actively trawling through various mediums, looking for hapless victims. Who has empowered these gentlemen (and ladies) to be judge, jury and executioner? Maybe there is something lacking in their own lives which compels them to ridicule, lambast and insult those who are ill equipped to defend themselves. Everyone is entitled to express an opinion but to shoot someone down just because of the way he or she styles their car? Well as long as they are picking on some other poor soul they are leaving me alone.........

Deffinitely!
No mistaking it. I was in the outsidelane, flashing hazards caught my eye on the inside and then I saw what they were attached to!
Could hardly believe it myself and traffic was slow so I had plenty of time to eyeball it

Driver was a large middle aged bloke with dark wavy hair, gold specs and a brown leather jacket on. Has to be said that he did not fit too well behind the wheel and did not look very comfy!
Maybe he was struggling to find the switch to purge the ragweld!!!!!

If it concerns you so much that he can't defend himself go and email him this link via Ebay.

Jeez lighten up, it isn't like we are slagging off his wife or his trousers. Someone has already said earlier in this thread that the guy is a car dealer so whats the problem?
