How dare you even suggest the car and driver may cheat!!!!!

It's simple......

If the car wins the handling circuit, the guy with the black visor will be me.

If the car loses, the guy with the black visor will be Simon.

All you have to do is look at the body roll on the left handers to work out who's behind the wheel.

There is a simple test to find out who's driving, ring a bell and if the driver looks around desperatly for a front door to open its Lurch - ooops sorry I mean its Shaun

Terry,
Nice one.... although it has been drummed in to me to "hang" it around the corners, rather than letting off the gas!

Regards,
Shaun.

LOL - it was wet and traction off the line was difficult. I nearly lost it on the 1st practice run. Diff fully locked and full bore launch at about 5.5k rpm - lit up all 4 wheels and went sideways down the road for about 40 yards - thought I was going into the ditch so I had to back off almost to a halt and start again.

And?

I drove mine like that everyday for 2 and a half years

Some of the roads round here are nigh on identical to those in that clip

I cant drive round corners for love nor money, but i have a damned good go trying, and a whole load of laughs

Well I've thrown my cards on the table to show you what I have been doing. With the exception of Messrs Darley and Felstead, I reckon the rest of you are just keyboard warriors. If not then get your videos up on the site - show us what you're made of

I think you should stop polishing your helmet as obviously that's what you webmasters do all day everyday instead of having a proper job

So what do we all reckon we'll get on the strip then???

Come on - let's see what you realistically think you can do.

I'd love to see myself in the 11s and think I will be very lucky if I do - but probably low 12's - but I'll certainly give it a damn good try.

Oh and the car is an STI5 RA Ltd running 366/375. I'm pretty sure I can get a good launch - not sure if I should try flat-shifting the gears to get the very best time - or if that could potentially blow up the gearbox (really don't want to do that as I need it to drive back home to Portsmouth) - any ideas???

Cheers

Terry

i think your gearing will hinder you a lot terry, as youll be going in to 5th before the line. if you had UK ratios then 11 would be possible, but on RA gears im not so sure.

But don't you think I will be accelerating quicker due to the gearing?? And a change to 5th will only hinder by say 0.2s - but if I've made 1s in sheer acceleration with short ratios????

I dunno - but will have fun finding out

So what time are you gunning for Neilo??? And be honest

nothing else bar a remap, its just on its running in map at the mo you see....and Bob couldnt fit me in until the 13th.

not sure about the NOS. i will do some runs without it and see what i do....if i find that i cant even break 13 without it then ill have a rethink!! if however i did 12.3 without it, then i wont bother!

Another scooby myth. Lift off oversteer is one of the most important tools at your disposal, when trying to make an Impreza go quickly.
