I know what you mean, that's why ours ended up being put in the garage and SORNed No point trying to sell it as needs at least 2k spending on it to get it running right and back on the road and didn't think anyone would seriously want it with all that, plus with the way they devaluate it would render it pretty much worthless, which is a shame after all he spent on it over the years, I feel bad because had he not taken on me and the kids would have probably been able to keep it goinig

Do you buy houses and rent them out then, by any chance?

I think you're doing the right thing for in the long run, because like you say, you can run something so much cheaper for now, get yourself sorted and start saving and when you have a decent bit behind you, then you can look at ownership once again without the worry of the rising costs

Wish we had that option too...
