Justin, maybe calling on your assistance on using my Porter Cable for the first time! Will be getting the scoob back next week and have been dying to use all my gear for ages now! I'm going to put about ten layers of blackfire wet diamond on to get the finish perfect too!!!

no worrys m8 - not sure what gear you got - also are you correcting the paint on the car (swirls etc) as if so you will need to be carefull around the new paint - the blackfire will be top stuff if your paints like Dai`s/Martins as its got that metalic gold flake in the black still wont look better then sonic blue does

Yeah it'll be a full correction, from claybar to P21's all the way through to my 11 million coats of wet diamond I'll PM you what i bought!

Just need some guidance as to pressure, speeds and most of all when to stop I dont mind if it takes me a week to do, the car wont be moving untill it's perfect! Do you have a paint thickness gauge?

 

wish I did m8 as its a dodgy one without that - all you can do is take your time and leave the deep scratches alone until you get a gauge - first mistake I did was to lift the pad before it had stoped - I got covered in polish as did the car and the floor come to think about it

only downside with Wet D is its fookin dusty so little tip is to use a spray of QD before you wipe it off with a microfibre.

one thing I will stress is make sure your washing technique is sorted before you spend hours sorting your car out other wise it will be a waste of time

I've got a Megs Lambswool mit and Microfibre one for the wheels. Poorboys slick and suds and 3 waffle weave towels (which are awesome) been using them all for a while so no extra swirlies

Tomorrow i'm going to get some clear buckets (2 bucket method) and try to get some grit guards! Got all the microfibres, work towels etc too. Got the job lot

3 Waffle weaves bloody hell youve spent some £££ there - ive only got 1 will get another when I order something else

Morrisons do the clear buckets but the grit guards wont fit them still good though - another tip is when drying use the black fire quick detailer before you use the waffle weaves adds extra protection + helps to stop tiny marks when drying.

and i've given the LADSOC some ****

 

sorry m8 I am doing 10 things at once -

hard to explain with words but start with usual arches/wheels etc then for the paint work only

2 buckets - or 3 if your posh (extra rinse bucket)
sheepskin mitt for paint work (as this is double sided)
Jiz gun - foam car leave for few mins - then rinse
foam again then starting from roof work in small areas at a time with a soaked mitt of suds turning the mitt as you go - rinse the mitt as often as you can,
repeat this for all panals
change the rinse bucket 2-3 times depending on how dirty your car is you should see how much ****e is in the bottom as it empties - thats why a grit guard is reccomended
dont forget to keep using the jiz gun to keep the paint wet/well foamed

the trick is to keep turning the mit as you go across the panal this ensures no ****e gets rubbed into the paint

once above is done give it a damn good rinse then finally go over with open ended hoze - and if your car is well waxed it should almost dry itself - give a quick spray of quick detailer to each panal as you dry it to again help protect it from drying scratches + if your using a decent one like the blackfire it adds extra protection.

well Ive still no marks in my paint from washing - only from next doors cat oh and reversing into a bush to avoid door dings at the WYIOC

yes a good soak first then medium preasure rinse - once you get a couple of layers of decent wax on cleaning become a peace of Pi*s

after the ring my car looked like it had been through hell - quick rince later it almost looked clean nothing sticks to it - even jaydut couldnt beleve it on the cheifs run out my car stayed clean (probbaly wasnt driving fast enough )

I thought you had given up the cleaning bug

 

oh yes justins car actually repels dirt couldnt believe it just look at the photos in the smacs gallery of the chiefs big run out

I've got some Swissol Shield wax too Justin. Had it a while now, with it being carnuba would that be better than the wet diamond or can they be used together???

i've got the Megs QD. I'll give it a go when drying! I only bought 3 waffles because i'm prone to the old dropsie and didn't want to use it after been on the floor

Oooh, you'll love that, boyo, if I could be bothered I'd take you along to the best viewing spots. It's the Köln Ahrweiler rally on Saturday morning which basically involves them closing the track for a few hours where they conduct a stage of the rally, normally from around 9 until 11am, they normally drive the stage from Pflanzgarten down to Breidscheid, so backwards to the normal track's direction, drivers like Wather Röhrl take part in Rally Porsches etc. You'll love it

Go to watch at Brünnchen or somewhere like that, or the Karussell if you can, it's great
