About 20 days ago, just before things started to get tense, I decided to get an economic wonder instead of an SDI. My reasoning for this was as follows: An SDI doesn't prevent me from getting nuked - an attacking nation can just keep sending them until one gets through, so what's the point?

Well, I have now learned what the point is.

In my recent war, my opponent and I were each in several wars - he had an SDI and I did not. On our first exchange, it took 5 nukes for me to get one through, he got me on the first try. So, we're both in nuke anarchy but let's look at the economics:

1. I shot my 5 most expensive nukes, at a cost of about $8M, he shot his $2M nuke
2. At this rate against two nuke opponents, I have enough for 3-4 more exchanges max, my opponents can each hit me 20 times
3. I am forced to nuke them every 4 days or so to keep them in anarchy, they can hit me every day - I lose 4X the tech and infra of my opponents

These economics mean that a smaller nation with an SDI can beat a much larger nation without one; even if the smaller nation is in several wars.

Lesson: follow the Sparta guidelines, get an SDI.

 

i know what they do! i do read war guides and wonder guides!

that what you have quoted doesnt happen most of the time tho, that is highlighting the extreme way of it punishing you, however i have heard a lot of the opposite happening

anyway one of the reasons was i didnt want to buy it at the time was i didnt want to wipe 75 mill from my warchest

i now have most of the economic wonders available to me so im going military now i have grown over 8,200 ns in the last month and jumped over 1200 places

i now have 6 nukes too

i maxed my spies out the day i started buying nukes

i have heard a couple of people who are kicking about with a billion warchests (odn are fighting one or 2)

What have I missed??

 

A mate of mine has a Toyota Corolla Tsport (or whatever it is called). Pretty mundane up to about 6000rpm, then the variable valve thingy cuts in and all hell breaks loose. Well, for another 2000rpm at least.

Sounds good on full throttle even with the original manifold and exhaust so imagine what it'd be like with after-market stuff.
