Don't I know it. My dad is in the paper trade too. He was two years off taking early retirement when they closed the mill he worked for - to make luxury apartments.
Ironically his mill (he was export manager) was the only one of the 4 left in the group (there used to be 28 in the group!!! ) that was making a profit.
We heard last month that the last mill in the group has now closed to be developed into property.

im at war as well, dont know why but there is a weird alliance that we are to attack (this is from nebula-x associated with pegasus)
found a nation within range and he is already being attacked by a few so I used a few cruise missiles on him with success Couldnt use ground troops though for some reason said I had a 0% chance of success
Need to get some aid though to buy some tanks and more planes

i cant access any sites from work that give me a war guide
cant even access the nebula forum as they have changed it and it is blocked by work
I need to get aid off them, unless you want to do a tech deal

Declaring War
If you're helping your comrades against a rogue, this part is self-explanatory. You declare war on your designated target, end of story. In alliance war, things are a little different. Here's how you manage war declarations in a large-scale conflict:
When your nation is at war, you'll be able to access the battle screen, as shown below:
The different types of attacks are listed below, in the order in which you should perform them (cruise missiles, aircraft, battles, and nukes if applicable). NOTE: Do not nuke if your alliance leadership has not authorized it. You get 2 battles, 2 CMs, and 2 aircraft per enemy per day.
Cruise Missiles
CMs take out a good chunk of infra and destroy some of your enemy's tanks. Since this weakens their defense, you should therefore strike first with CMs. Launch cruise missiles by selecting them from the battle menu, as shown below:
Aircraft
Here's what the aircraft screen looks like, for reference:

- Declare war only on targets on specified, alliance leadership-approved target lists.
- Do not declare war on more than one target at a time unless specifically ordered to do otherwise. This is very important - failure to abide by this gets you ****ed over big time.
- Before declaring on a target with no filled war slots, look for a comrade who is under attack and needs help. Declaring war on your fellow soldiers' attackers is more effective than going after a fresh target.
- Pay attention to priority targets and try to fill up their war slots before anyone else's. They're made priorities for a reason (usually because they're enemy leadership, banking, or nuclear nations).
- Declare war on targets at or above your nation's infra level. Yes, there are overall strategic reasons for this other than "don't be a *****," which I won't go into because this is a guide to the "how" of war, not the "why."

Here's what the aircraft screen looks like, for reference:
- Buy the highest-level aircraft that your tech level permits.
- Fighters are far more important than bombers. If you can afford level 9 bombers, get 59 fighters and 1 bomber. Otherwise, get slightly more bombers (enough to add up to 9 total bomber strength).
- When attacking, send as many aircraft as you can. The fighters will act as escorts and keep the bombers from getting shot down.
- Dogfights are stupid - don't do them. Always send bombers.
- Be sure to keep plenty of fighters for defense (this just means you have plenty of fighters on hand at all times - you can still send them all on bombing runs without compromising your defense).
Here's a list of things to check and actions to perform in battling your opponent:
- Make sure you're on DEFCON 1 (you can edit this setting on the "Edit my nation" screen).
- If you're large enough to reasonably afford it, guerilla camp/barrack swap. This means you demolish some improvements (the cheapest ones) and build guerilla camps and barracks in order to attack. When you collect taxes and pay bills, destroy the guerilla camps and barracks and rebuy your old improvments. If you're losing a lot of infra, stop doing this and lock in your money-making improvements.
- Buy max possible soldiers (80% of your population or a little higher - don't worry about happiness penalties, they'll die in battle anyway).
- Buy max possible tanks. After buying the highest number allowed on the purchase screen, you can keep going back to it and buying tanks over and over again. Keep doing this until it stops letting you buy to get your actual maximum number of tanks.
- Deploy 48% of your soldiers (yes, YOURS, not theirs) and all of your tanks. NOTE: Do not deploy too many troops (you will see red text when you hit "confirm deployment" if you've deployed too many). This will decimate your economy and is not fun.
- Use cautious attack if battle odds are below 40%. Use planned attack if battle odds are between 40% and 70%. Use aggressive if your odds are better than 70%.
- Use aggressive for the last attack of the day. This accomplishes two things:
- Gains you more if you win, with no significant risk to yourself (since you won't be attacking anymore that day).
- Gets more of your deployed troops/tanks destroyed, so you can rebuy them to get them immediately on defense.
- At the end, buy soldiers so you can defend yourself. Repurchase
- If possible, try to do quad attacks. This involves attacking right before update (1 AM EST), and then right afterwards. If you hit your opponent about 10-15 minutes before update, and then again right afterwards, you will have a better chance of putting him into anarchy. Remember that you can redeploy troops after update if needed. Note that since this involves attacking before and after update, you can only do it once every 2 days.
- Coordinate with the other people at war with your enemy, and try to attack at the same time (quad at the same time if possible). This will keep them from rebuying troops and staying out of anarchy after you attack.

ive deployed 3400 troops and 50 tanks (massive force to be reckoned with )
In 2 ground attacks 1 aggressive one cautious I have lost both, however he has more soldiers than me and I have actually caused him to lose more than me in nett terms
this is fun, can I do more than 2 ground attacks or is that the daily limit?
