Apparently all the roads were flooded. Some people were daft enough to try and go through them and ended up drowning their cars.

He goes banger racing. He has various Cavaliers in various states of disrepair lying about his garden. He used to use the Calibra to tow the bangers.

It'd been replaced by a 55 plate Mitsubishi crewcab pickup thingy. With 4 of the biggest spot lights in the world mounted on the roof.
