What Paul is saying is that a suitable 230mm 5 speed clutch works fine on a 6 speed and no need to upgrade to the 240mm one off the STi 7 & 8 that uses a strange flywheel.

Thinking long term though, will the 5 speed clutch perish quicker running the 6 speed, if so would prob be best to change while its all out.

Nope, it'll be fine, I have several running around like that and they perform well.

nice try. They do at Halfrauds l think. Problem is that you have to let them do the work................... The up side is; they do keep monkey wrenches for their Monkeys.

I will be installing a 6 speed into my '02 WRX by years end... maybe sooner once WRC-Tech plays with my map again (adding alcohol injection and more boost). I am at 310lbft now. Its only a matter of time... BOOM! Its all part of the game.

Yes you will Mark, if you want the dccd to work. You may also need the drive shafts and rear hubs, as l think you have the R160 size diff in your car and the Type R will be R180.

l'll check on Monday with Rob our gearbox man to see what we can do re your PM.
