I've always thought 'hardcore ravers' are a weird bunch, but Jesus those photos are of the biggest misfits I've ever seen!!

That or tucked up in bed with a nice cup of cocoa, I'd take the cocoa anyday, and this is coming from someone whos spent all night at egg and hasn't been to sleep yet.

I never said they were not still going on i just think this type of party looks very sad, full of divs gurning with whistles and green jackets.

"Hardcore raves" are for 20 year old kids who have no idea what it was originally all about.

Maybe he does not need pills etc but everyone else is off there ****.

I'm sorry but whistles and green jackets etc went out many many years ago.

I spent it at a massive hardcore rave along with 1999 close personal friends.
You have 2000 close personal friends. What a load of nonsense. Name them then, name even 100. You do know that the human brain doesnt have the capacity to remember that many people, faces or names.

Class

AB, I realise you put yourself up for this abuse with the reviews, and the pics from choons.net, and I can't fault your dedication to the cause, but let's be realistic about things....to say people don't have a life because they are sat in on a saturday evening, or the fact that they aren't into the hardcore *music scene is a joke .

If you asked 1000 people at random in the street if they are into hardcore music, and **raves, then I would bet a weeks wages that 998 of them will turn round and say "no ta, it's a bag o' ****". If you asked the same 1000 people if they preferred darts in the pub, train spotting, or sitting in the house of a saturday with their families, then I would bet a weeks wages that 2 of them will turn round and say "no ta, it's a bag o' ****". Just becuase what you are into is so obscure, doesn't make it cool.

*Term 'music' used very losely....complete and utter ****e would be more applicable. Post up some download links to some phat choons,AB, prove me wrong

**30 people in the function room of a pub...... MASSIVE!

And what's this 1999 close personal friends all about? I could say the same about my 55,865 close personal friends on scoobynet

This is true....but to post pics of yourself, your mates and the lead singer from the darkness doing so is not wise..unless you want the **** taken for the next 3 weeks.

I went to Eclipse in Coventry once, spent the night on the stairs with my head in my hands after procuring disco biscuits off of a bloke in the car park doing donuts in a cossie. Everything went purple for a while, and I managed to projectile vomit over 4 people on the dancefloor after I OD'ed on Mr Freeze Ice pops, and a strawberry tune

My first and last Rave

I do agree that AB deserves a bit of leg pulling now and again, however there is a fine line between that and just being plain old nasty, I dont mind anyone taking the p1ss out of me if its funny or not meant to be malicious, I think this thread though pretty funny has perhaps gone a bit over the mark.

I think the motorway maintenance look is good. I saw a gibbon in a club in Faliraki in about 1991, must have been a raver, trouble is he was in a standard Brits on the p1ss club, he was dress in hot pants and wellies, now he did look a proper twart.

I do not think anyone is being malicous really. If you are man enough to post pics of yourself looking like something from a 90's "rave" your man enough to take the stick.

I have pics from the 90's at partys with my hair shaved at the sides and in ponytail dancing like a ****. BUT i would never put them on SN....unless i was up for a bit of **** taking.

I don't think AB is bothered. Does he looked bothered though? Look at his face - is he bothered?

Maybe, but those lot arn't hardcore. These are what the hardore ravers looked like:

They meant it, and they had the politics to back it up. Not like the limp lettuce lightwieghts in ABs pics.

Ah, "the I did it, and you're doing it, but I did it 15 years ago, so my experiences count but yours dont" complex.

One of the best things about this thread is I know for a fact most of you were highly involved in the rave scene at one point, but still feel the need to post up nasty comments. I can take a bit of ribbing, I just dont like some of the comments that have been posted up on choons about my friends.

Unclebuck: I know you used to organise illegal raves yet:
Sorry, but that looks *extremely* lame - lol
Okay it may not be 10,000 people in a field, but it was a house party more than a rave. The guy who organised that party used the basement of a pub and put out invited to friends only. Not 30 people, but 100. All of them turned up. He brought in his own sound system, lighting rig and decor, not to mention organisation of DJs who travelled many miles to play out for nothing. Maybe he's not on doing things on the same scale as you, but the principle is the same.

EXSCOOBY: You post up comments like:
ive played at angels a ton of times
i was there when sasha was late and paul taylor STILL insisted on doing the last hour
im playing a ministry gig in june/july with fontaine ill take some pics and post them all things being well
oooh i remember monroes
also rocked remix in bournemouth with carl *** when he first played on 3 decks
yet you're STILL too ***** to reveal your DJ name. Time to put up or SHUT UP pal, till you do, your comments are like water off a ducks back, cos I go harder and longer than your pompus, strutting, image obsessed, drug addled *superstar* DJ self could EVER do, without the need for stuffing myself full of drugs and moaning like a ***** when you cant take the comedown.
DJ name? anychance of it? Mixtape or download available yet? Nah didnt think so. I'll leave you to mainline in peace son. Got your kids dropping yet?

Chips, with regard to:
to say people don't have a life because they are sat in on a saturday evening, or the fact that they aren't into the hardcore *music scene is a joke .
I never said that if you're sat indoors, and dont like Hardcore then you dont have a life, I was just stating I knew what I preferred to do of a saturday night.

As for:
Just becuase what you are into is so obscure, doesn't make it cool.
I NEVER said what I do is cool. I go out to raves to enjoy myself, The amount of time I've had the pissed ripped for it, is unreal, but I dont care, cos it makes me feel good. Your singular experience of the rave scene was coloured by getting off your **** taking illegal drugs. Maybe if you gave it another go, but this time got up, had a dance and talked to some people who were there instead of sitting on some steps gurning your **** off on your own then you might have a better time.

I know I leave myself open to abuse each time I post one of these things up, but quite frankly I dont care, I have had far worse abuse about my musical taste and what I do of a weekend, but I still do it and I'll still keep posting the reviews about it. Why? Cos while it has only happened occasionaly, I have met people at raves that use this board, and meeting them makes all the abuse on here well worth it.
astraboy.
