Right regarding the cartoons from an Islaamic standpoint they are things Muslims are not too happy about for two reasons:
1. The Prophet Muhammad never wanted his image depicted in a good or bad way due to the fact that people who overpraised him (above his station) would possibly end up giving the characteristics of divinity and Lordship or being something similar to that and as Muslims we are ordered to worship Allaah Alone without attributing any partners in that worship in any way shape or form.
2. The issue of the suicide bomb cartoon is insulting because the Prophet mentioned the evil people like Bin Laaden, Zarkawi, Al Qaeda etc. as being the people who had left the religion and to kill them was permitted due to the harm and trials and tribulations that they bring. Killing, bombing, kidnapping, hijacking etc. So to attribute something like that to the Prophet Muhammad is totally unfair. If you want to put down Bin Laadin and his evil followers then that is totally fine but the Final Prophet to mankind (as we Muslims believe) is unfair and unjust.

Regards the comments on Mary and Jesus Son of Mary then whoever wrote the evil statements regards them (if he is Muslim) should recant as Muslims love and honour Jesus and Mary in fact we believe as Muslims the best of all the women were Mary, Aisha (the wife of the Prophet) and Aasiyah (the wife of the Pharaoh that Moses was sent to). To insult any Prophet or Messenger sent by God is a major sin in our religion and can cause you to leave the religion which is a very serious issue as any Muslim will know.

As regards to the extreme, ignorant, short sighted and plain stupid responses that Muslims again have got themselves involved in then they should fear their Lord. Demonstrating and threatening to kill people, causing such commotion that people get killed even a 14 year old boy! and as for the devil who had the audacity to dress up as a suicide bomber then he should be straight to the local anti terrorism padded cell. Would he have liked that if he had members of his family maimed and killed in the underground bombings?!!! Such a sincere apology reading from a piece of paper!!! Regards the encitement of racial hatred well the protesters were doing that and they should be prosecuted and taken off the street so they do not have any opportunity to 'poison' daft, naive and ignorant young minds and even those young minds does it not occur to these people that Islaam even gives fruit bearing trees rights in the middle of war...our Prophet did not allow Muslims at war (clear war one army against another army on a battlefield...if the case ever occured - New York and Central London IS NO BATTLEFIELD BY THE WAY) to harm innocent women, men, children, animals or fruit bearing trees let alone kill and maime let alone kill yourself by commiting suicide. Suicide in Islaam is FORBIDDEN and the reward for the one who commits suicide is Hell. They won't be getting 70 virgins they will be getting a Fire 70 times hotter than the fire of this world!!! So there are many vrigins still available unlike the cartoon suggests.

Regards the destroying of property then this is also forbidden as it is property and wealth that does not belong to those people and the people in those places may have seen the side of the Muslims being upset so why harm them and their property. Even protesting is not from Islaam as it causes distruption to peoples lifes, affects resources (police etc.) and usually leads to violence, damage to property and bloodshed. This is not the way of the Muslims.

These people claim to love the Prophet so much then ask them do they establish their prayers in the Mosque (all five as much as they can including the morning 6.45am prayer), do they grow their beard as the Prophet and all his companions did, do they recite and memorise the Quraan as it should be correctly and as it should be understood, do they treat Muslims and Non Muslim with kindness and gentleness (clearly not), do they have the correct belief in their Lord as the Prophet taught us, what do the know about the life of the Prophet? These are just some of the things...you see they all clam to love Muhammad so much that it leads them to these extremes but if the truly loved Muhammad they would know his traditions and if they knew his traditions then they would not have acted in this way. Doesn't Islaam just look great Muslims!!! Are you bloody fools happy now. What has angered most of the Muslims that understand their religion is the insulting of our Prophet whos wife we refer to as our mother and the Prophet has a higher station than our fathers so if someone insulted your father or mother in a slanderous way would you not be upset? What has also angered us is the response of the ignorant masses of Muslims and the evil inciters.

I hope that sheds some light on this affair...TBH I only responded to this because my good friend Michelle told me about it and Bravo2zero asked for my view on all this.

Aaquil...

By the way if you saw me down the street you would probably think 'Bin Laadin' I am a practising Muslim by praise be to my Lord me and that devil are worlds apart.
Informative and sensible. Sadly lacking in here.

Hi Aaquil.

Thanks for sticking your head above the parapet on this one. It's good to hear an explanation of the reasons why Muslims are so upset by what, to us, seems perfectly harmless.

It's also refreshing to hear someone with the courage to stand up for their beliefs and the ability to do it in a reasonable and constructive way. Good on you

Now if you could gather a large crowd of like minded people and deal with the nutters who seem intent on dragging us all into some sort of no holds barred jihad, that would be great...

Cheers,

S(imon)B

Simon and Suresh thanks for the encouragement...there are quite a few like minded like me but unfortunately what we hold to be true is not 'interesting' enough to be 'news worthy' the kind of moderates you get on these news debates etc. are usually the ones that cleverly show two faces one to people like yourselves and the media and intellectual terrorism to the naive, emotional, dead end life young impressionable Muslims. Do what you want all life then the easy way out...bomb strapped to body = Paradise and virgins I don't think so!

Stuff the parapet I have put my head on the chopping block on far more serious issues than this...I will continue to tell people about the true Islaam irregardless of what the fanatics and extremists believe or preach.

Hey, give us some time !

So you do think the apology from the Jylland Posten was sincere. I did, but most of the people I talked to in the last few days didn't. "Two faced cowards" and all that...

I understand what you say about the press, but the press being the press, maybe there is a window of opportunity for muslims declaring loud & clearly what you just wrote.

One other intresting post I noticed yesterday (other BBS) was a muslim asking: "so why the heck are you people intent on seeing the prophet in those cartoons ? I don't, of course I don't. So why get mad ?"

I was being sarcastic when I mentioned the apology was sincere...anyone who reads out a pre written statement can't feel that apologetic for what he did at all. I have no sympathy for him or the others whatsoever except that with some of those protestors (a small minority of course) who may be just well misguided...unfortunately being misguided is still not really an excuse as if someone really wants to find the truth they can just search for it.

Sorry, misunderstanding: I was referring to the letter of apology in the Danish newspaper called "Honourable Fellow Citizens of the Muslim World".

Hi Aaquil,

The "suicide bomber" is not much of an example of our society in general, let alone any section of it. A convicted drug dealer acording to reports:-

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4687996.stm

Clearly not someone who should be representing all Muslims, or identified as a typical muslim by those disposed against Islam.

More power to you in your postings, balance seems a bit lacking in this thread and mutual understanding is what we all need more of.

Aaquil

Genuinely interesting reading. My concern is how the extremists/fanatics interpret the faith into virtually the complete opposite of all it stands for.

Who teaches these things? Without being sarcastic,is it Imaams' 'gone bad'.

It seems to me that many do not understand their own faith.

Keep it up!

The extremists often get thier say as they shout loudest which is not right but the way of the world.

Tolerance and understanding needs to be shown by all involved and those who cannot and will not need to go elsewhere in the world to where their views are felt to be just to be valid.

Aaquil,

I guess this proves the 'hype' about you my man, that is very level headed and informative reply to a delicate subject. It's good to hear something spoken about Islam rather than shouted as we see documented by ****** like Bakri on TV.

Aaquil,

I've read the whole post and I think that your summation is absolutely spot on. You should be congratulated on forming a well worded, concise insight into how true Muslims conduct their faith.

I believe that the UK is well aware that these "misguided" Muslims are in a minority, but it's now time for the wider Muslim community to actively drive them out and disown them. Simply saying this on television is not enough.

All the best
Matt

Aaquil,

Thank you for posting up your opinion which has always been factual, sensible, constructive and enlightening.
I didn't want you to have to respond to this, but I believe that you truly assist with helping people understand the difference between a real Muslim and the pseudo Muslim extremists who are damaging Islaam more and more every day.

Michelle.

As always an intelligent post from Aaquil, but I do however find it slightly un-nerving when people base so much on myth and fiction - and appear to really believe its all real. I mean there is no allah FFS, no tooth fairy, no father Christmas...

This is a civilised western country, and having people who base so much on religion or myth just doesnt fit in with the rest of (civilised) society.

why cant people say what they REALLY mean....its sounds to me you think his post is as sensible and intelligent as if i wrote about how the tooth fairy is real. (for what its worth....i agree with you!)

most UK people think most followers of religion are a bit nuts (or a lot nuts).....and thats NEVER going to change. I cant see any sensible peace bewteen those two points.

As i said, the UK and Scandinavia are not Muslim countries. The two cultures will never mix easily.

There are millions of Ismaili muslims in this country who have lived in the UK for years and are perfectly intergrated into UK life. 10-15 years ago and before the current tensions the Aga Kahn said to all Muslims that to live in another country you have to adapt and change to accept its culture as your own that is what Ismailis have done. It is perfectly possible to intergrate Islam with life in the UK but first other Muslim leaders have to tell their followers to accept and respect UK life. The press don't really help by trying to paint all followers of Islam as terrorists and totally ignoring the Muslims who are fully intergrated to English society.
