STI engine mounts....where from ?
Dunk asked for a recommendation.Nobody had answered and as I had just bought a complete set of engine and gearbox mounts I was able to recommend someone who I knew had them in stock.
As often happens when I make a recommendation for anything, Tim comes along behind and recommends Lateral with a price of £170.
I see the post next morning and happen to have the RCMS invoice on my desk.
I am surprised you think I would phone anybody for prices for a third party but I note the list prices are less than the posted prices and I guess they may sell some items at discount.
I make a factual post to assist Dunk and it goes on from there.
As far as I was concerned it was finished. Dunk can buy from where he wants. He asked for help, was given it and can do his own thing.
I point out to Tim that I am tired of him following my recommendations with regular "Speak to Mark" posts but as far as I am concerned it is finiished.
Steven then comes on and I ignore it but he comes back for a second go, having already posted elsewhere on something that does not concern him.
"Harvey, I guess that would suggest you are not quite the authoritive figure on all things subaru that you imply in the manner of your posts.
You really do come across in perhaps the wrong light when you post in the manner as you have above."
I ignore this too. I have simply posted factual prices so what is this crap about "authorative figure"
Paul says stop so that seems like a bit of wisdom and the end but no, Steven comes back with a clever remark.
OK, I do have something to say now and I simply repeat £170vv£163.75 but Steven who has been rude elsewhere on something that does not concern him and he does not know the background to has to come back again followed by Dunk who is factually incorrect.

"FYI The RCMS price is for STI mounts rather than the GrpN Lateral mounts, therefore £6.25 doesn't tell the whole story."
Sorry mate but somebody has been filling you full of crap. The RCMS ARE GrpN and they WERE supplied to Aigan and he knows they are GrpN as that is what he sells to you.
Now at this point having been restrained I decide I have had enough.
I remind Steven that he came to me and shook my hand at Stockport and from then until now, as far as I was concerned I have either supported him or been totally neutral. A sincere handshake is a very serious thing to me. There is still a way out for him and we can end it but I also show him that I know far more about what is going on than I say.

"Harvey, what on earth are you trying to acheive with this aggressive attitude of late?"
Specifically referring to post 19 there is NO aggression there mate and it looks like you enjoy carrying things on or you got an imagination or something.
I guess it is alright for you guys to do what you want, bait me but when I eventually respond, you do not like it.
I have no problem with Dunk buying from where ever but who has been giving this crap about RCMS are STi and Aigans are inferred to be better as GpN.
Mark : Forgive me for not answering in full but to get to the nub of it:
"I will keep this brief, because neither you, or a set of engine mounts are worth any more of my time, let alone my astonishment in the lack of integrity Roger Clark have shown in breaking a customer confidence !!! "
I would like to state publically that I deeply regret breaking the confidence of RCMS in that I knew you were having an engine rebuild there. For this I feel awful that I have let RCMS down.
"3) You made a point of calling Roger Clark, and no doubt spoke to Olli, to get the pricing to post on the thread, and posted £163.75, stating they were cheaper than the £170.00 I quoted."
Totally wrong. I am not/have not been motivated to phone anybody for prices, other than for my own use and generally I am happy to buy from my trusted suppliers without knowing the price.
I had just obtained a set of engine and gearbox mountings from RCMS and the invoice was on my desk which is why I could be so precise.
I don't have a problem with Dunk buying from you, (especially when the product originated at RCMS) but I object to the claim that RCMS sell STi when infact they are the Gp N supplied to you and the inference that yours (supplied by RCMS) are better than the RCMS product.
Now when I was discussing the possible puchase of a gearbox with Olly, I mentioned that he may get an enquiry for engine mounts and he let slip, quite innocently that he had just packaged two sets for you and I wish that I had never used that information.
"I really hope that Roger Clark feels this whole exercise was worth both their efforts to win a £163.38 + delivery order, and the loss of their INTEGRITY."
I have let Roger Clark down which I deeply regret and I cannot turn the clock back.
Now if you want to talk about INTEGRITY that is fine by me. We can start with my Ion Turbo, sent to Turbo Dynamics by RCMS for a repair to the penny valve spindle. It was sent from RCMS with no mention of me but the following day by early afternoon I had two phone calls and a further one later that evening from people that had had you on the phone, telling them all about my turbo which was with your mate at Turbo Dynamics and amongst other things it was nothing special etc. Clearly you got that bit wrong. You will remember that I got sick of the whole thing and visited you at your house in North London and cautioned you as to your future conduct where it involved me.
So Mark, while two wrongs do not make a right and I deeply regret letting down RCMS, you are not someone who places a lot of store in integrity.
IF you want to continue this I can scan up the humble apology from Peter Marsh, Managing Director of Turbo Dynamics just for starters.
Steven : Get real.
You shook my hand and like I say as far as I was concerned I was on your side or at the least neutral. Several times lately you have posted in an unnecessary way and I have ignored it. Maybe a handshake does not count for much in your principals.
I get the impression that my posts are watched with great interest by a small band of people and for whatever reason you have kicked off now. I rarely go on 22b for exactly that reason and on the odd occassion I do I think it is much the same crap just two or three weeks on.
I did not know from RCMS that you were getting an engine build. They have not told me that but I have known this since mid January so look at your own circle of associates. Until your post on here I did not know it was a short block but thanks for confirming what I was told had substance.
Now these are interesting times. When I first started dealing with RCMS some of you guys slagged them off, slagged offf my results etc. There were threads that went on page after page extolling the virtues of your choosen engine builder(s), car preparation specialist etc etc. I can remember quite a few. Funny now that Steven and Mark both want engine work done at RCMS but want it kept secret.
Leave me alone to get on with what I am doing, let me mind my business as I have been doing for some time but push me and I will react. I am sure that in a commercial environment that would be in everybodies best interests.

I just thought with three parties involved in the engine build, there was a fairly obvious link to the three people who knew about it
If it's been a case that i've stumbled on something by my comments,it's not my intention despite comments to the contrary.

Harvey,
I made an error in judgement3 YEARS AGO.
I tried to put things right with you at the time, but you refused to let me apologise, and have instead chosen to carry a grudge, which still goes on today !
However, where I just made a stupid mistake, it wasn't in public, or with malice !
I made an assumption that you spoke to Olli about pricing, I was wrong !
I suggest you ask DUNK who told him RCMS sell "STi" mounts. I did no such thing.
It would appear that if you post a recommendation, no one else has the right to suggest anyone else to try, incase they are cheaper, or maybe just have stock, where the other suggestion may not.
We don't own a thread, because we posted first, the idea is to try and HELP the poster.
You claim to be a big advocate of the "community" getting the best pricing, and products available to them at the time, but in reality, rather than allowing them to have all the information, so they can make their own choices, you seek to restrict their choices to whom you see fit.
This thread shows quite clearly, that when you compare one "delivered" price to another, I was in fact cheaper, be it by only a few pounds.
It's not my fault you forgot to add the carriage to send the mounts.
I'm sure Roger Clark, and I, just want to get on with own our business. Please let us.
Mark.

Blimey - what a to do !
For the avoidance of any doubt........
I did ask RCMS to price up STI mounts which they duly did & didn't offer any alternatives or flexibility on discounting. On speaking with Mark he offered a marginally lower price and a GrpN spec mount for a similar price as the STI items.
I save £6, get a higher spec product & and better advice..........therefore not a tricky decision.

Dunk, it is my understanding that the RCM mounts are the same product as laterals.
Your mistake comes from the fact that you asked RCM for STi mounts but when you asked mark, he probably corrected you that they were actualyl group N when RCM neglected to tell you.
The products are the same. the price is different.

Am I the only one who is bored with this ?
(Both are rhetorical questions, please DO NOT respond & reignite.)

Mark : I'd rather not fight with you and this will be my last post on this thread.
There is no point mulling over the fine details because we will never agree. What I see is complete double standards.
I am sure you will agree that our paths have not crossed for some considerable time and that suits me.
However, for some time my posts have been stalked, so much so that I hardly post on 22B and when I look there I think it is the same crap just two or three weeks on. Any recommendations I make on Scoobynet are likely to be countered, often almost immediately.
I made my position very clear in posts 7 & 9.
Then I have Steven Darley acting as a self appointed pundit and clever ****.
I asked him if he was baiting me or posting against me. His answer
He then posts on 22B, after Tim has quite deliberately recommended half a dozen suppliers:
So not only is his handshake worthless but he tells lies.
I want to get on with my own business without this crap but if I get any more of this hassle I will simply take an interest in your affairs as I did with Pete Croney. That is not what I want to do as I would rather use my determination, motivation, stamina and energy constructively not destructively.
I am sure you know where I am coming from and I hope we can now live harmoneously.
Bye for now.

Harvey,
I only came onto this thread because,
1) You stated I was more expensive than RCMS.
YOU WERE WRONG
But more importantly.......
2) You accused me of lying to Dunk
YOU WERE WRONG
If I make a mistake, at least I'm man enough to admit it, even if sometimes, I say I'm wrong, when it turns out I'm right !
Olli called me today, we had a long chat, and we're sorted.
As for being "stalked", I can only say, not by me, and I very much doubt by anyone else.
When it comes to posting, certain peoples paths will regularly cross on here, it's par for the course, but that's purely down to the nature of the thread, nothing else.
If our paths cross on a thread, I won't be selling, I will be trying to help someone, and if someone happens to recommend me in a thread, they will be trying to help someone too, just as you are, when you recommend a person, or company.
I didn't realise you take credit for putting Pete Croney/Scoobysport (the original) out of business.
And If I'm going to be threatened, as far as I'm concerned, in public is the best place.
However, I will conduct my business the way I see fit. I believe the owners are more than capable of deciding what they want to buy, and who from.
The technical forums are here to give everyone access to the information, to make those decisions, and no one has a right to restrict that information in any way.
I'm more than happy to live in harmony, if I'm allowed to !

Watched with interest this and a few of your recent posts Harvey and they come across as overly aggressive threatening people.
FFS one thread was about air filters and this thread is about a few poxy gearbox mounts.
