Lavender Hill, Enfield.

Spot on for everything. Had a demo car for a 24 hour test drive
Had them service mine for the last 3 years - still do even though I live in Derby.
Will seemingly do anything for you - ooer!

Not Cheap but then again not overly expensive

good sales ( nearly a 2 hr test drive to two scruffy herberts)

Great service (turn up to collect the car when the say and return it with all work done before I the time I ask for it)

Cross Roads at Tredington

First rate staff, nothing is too much trouble. Not sure about prices as I haven't compared.

Welch Group in Great Shelford, Cambridge

Basically excellent. Sales team are ok - got a test drive with no hassle (in a special edition McRae too at the time). Back up boys are brilliant - have got to know Julie and Mike personally over the time I've had it (not because of problems with the car - just having extra stuff fitted to it ) Mine's a UK-spec import from Holland too, and although IM told them to be awkward and not co-operate, they've ignored IM and given me courtesy cars and everything.

They even let me have a look around a P1 while they were PDI'ing (inspecting) it before delivery to the customer!

What can I say? Dealership for life.

Richard

The posting re: Welch Group in Great Shelford, Cambridge made me remember approx. 3 years ago they lent the husband a Subaru Impreza Turbo demonstrator for a week for us to try out - now that's what I call service !

Bentleys of Sheffield:
Not very impressed with most of the sales team, very patronising! even though me and my mate from college bought a Scooby each!
Speak to Mike Hinde if you have to, but don't believe everything he tells you! My 'Cat 1 alarm' turned out not to be approved, and the immobiliser is Cat 2.

Beechdale Derby:
VERY impressed so far! Very nice people to deal with!

Sales

Good all round service at all times

Service

Twice have been told car wasnt booked in for service when it was. Told me didnt need new clutch when it did. Has been in twice in recent weeks to have rattle sorted Still no joy. Overcharged a mate £40 on a service. Have never washed the carafter service. Want £15 for courtesy car.

keith Price. Abergavenny

Sales. Dont know

Service.

Thought they were good until I saw the workmanship after they had fitted a new clutch. Rounded bolts, 5 washers on one bolt is just not on with a 20K car.

UK Spec MY99 from Belgium (thought I'd point this out up front).

Quenby's- Gave me the wrong mats (twice). Didn;t seem to give a toss that It's 50 mile round trip. Put in wrong grade of oil (Mobil 1). Changed it for free after I wrote to complain.

Cheam Motors. Excellent in most regards. Enthusiastic younger staff (the converse of Quenby's).
Obviously they are stuck in an awkward position with IM. Said there was a problem with my clutch (in fact it is a problem with almost all) but couldn't officially do much unless it was a Uk bought car. They thought it daft that IM would not let me take out an extension on warranty (at full cost to me).

Will be sticking with Cheam Motors (despite being further away by about 80 miles there and back.

Osbournes, Colchester

Went in to look at a new car with wife and kids in tow. They were not interested in selling me one but let me wander around and sit in the cars in the showroom. Didn't attempt to sell me one and I had to ask for a brochure. No offer of test drive.

They wouldn't discount on a new car but offered one in 8 weeks. Wouldn't discount even when I wanted to buy two cars. Ended up importing from Holland.

Very good on first service and also cleaned it while I waited an hour. Also fitted locking wheels nuts for free. No problems with it being an import.

Phoned 4 times for a quote on a barrier deadlock. Each time they said thay would phone back and never did. I have arranged with the BD manufacturer to get it fitted at their dealership this week.

Overall mixed opinion, they could do better.

Frits Kempen, Holland

Absolute top bloke, best dealer I've ever dealt with. Sent me all brochures, specs, prices by return. Fitted all requested options and gave me free touch up paint and car mats. Flowers in boot for wife. Phone me up at 9pm on a Friday night to check I'd got home OK with the car. Damn good price on my 5dr MY00.

Spring Park, West Wickham.

Service - Always been very helpful, and willing to try to get things just how I want them (eg geometry experiments, short engine). Dealt with a few emergencies sympathetically and well. No BS, no frills, very reasonable pricing.

Sales - My wife bought a used Wagon from them recently, and, although a few things still need sorting, I'm confident they'll get there. They made the actual deal process go in a friendly way, which was nice, not always the case with some dealers I've encountered - I have occasionally been known to go green and burst the buttons off my shirt if a dealer tries to treat me as if they are doing me a favour!. They do know me quite well now, of course...

Town & Country Subaru, Aberdeen

Copied from IWOC:
Got my 37,500 mile service (@33000miles) yesterday at Town and Country in
Aberdeen. What a difference compared with the deceased Anderson Cars! Very
impressed with the level of professionism. It's the little things that
impress: first time in my life a car has been hoovered and washed when in
for a service, they bleeded the brakes (I think, they are far less spongy
than before), and glued my alarm fob back together after my girlfriend
pulled it apart on Sunday!

They also agreed that there is a noise on cold start-up and will be in touch
with Subaru....... Seems like the dreaded 98MY piston slap :-(

Spring Park West Wickham

Top dealership, can only echo the other comments, I have a Euro Scoob that Lancasters in Sevenoaks looked down their nose at and werent interested in, Spring Park a different story, very reasonable prices, 15-20% cheaper than Lancasters who are my local dealer which makes the drive to them worth it.

Cool

Wilsons of Chadwell Heath rock!
I've had the AP modified clutch sourced and fitted by them in a week. I've had the Prodrive/Alcon brakes fitted, they even made a 30 mile journey FOC to pick up some brake fluid I had specified when it turned out I hadn't supplied them enough for the job. They sorted out my exterior trim problems. They've looked up prices for all sorts of bits and pieces for me without complaint. Roger puts up with the third degree from IM every time he calls - IM are very hot about confirming that the car is a real type UK.
Oh, and they always pick up and drop off the car for me - guess that's not too much of a hassle though, I'm sure driving the 22 instead of a Seat Arossa isn't too much of a chore for Roger!
So thats my service book all stamped up nicely.
I've also used Scoobysport for an interim oil change etc - no probs there either, and always cool stuff going on at the garage!
Pete's had the select monitor attached to my car on a number of occasions to investigate the det I was experiencing and always has some good advice to share.
I've also dealt with BRD and Scoobymania once each, both were very professional, ordered goods were dispatched promptly and the order was complete each time.
In fact the only bad experience I have had is with the dealer from which I bought the car. They just didn't seem like they had any interest in helping me investigate options for the car when I needed a new clutch.
Cheers
Chuck

Echo the previous 'top notch' feedback, though an impending short engine replacement on my MY98 will be a real test...

A couple from north of the border:

Fraser Anderson (Stirling). Unfriendly, unhelpful, managed to screw up fitting my CD changer (obviously hadn't tested it after fitting). I'll never go back.

Goudies Garage (Paisley). Absolute opposite of Fraser Anderson. Great attitude & did everything right first time.

Vale Motors (Wincanton):
Sales/Test Drive: great until they had the order. When handing over the car the bloke didn't have a clue. When it came to tracker I was told, "give them a ring and they'll explain what you have to do".
Also, with regard to tracker, Vale charged me for fitting (fine), but didn't pass the money on to Tracker, who later billed me for it - took a fair bit of sorting out.
Service: never been back (would you?)

Chapelgate (Dorset):
Sales/Test Drive: Completely hopeless. Never even returned my phone call.
Servicing: One word: EXCELLENT. Everything done on time, and car comes back spotless.

Lavender Hill Garage (Enfield, Middx)

Took P1 to have door shut realigned and David Metcalf who looks after warranty etc. took me out in his fathers P1 to demonstrate how good the Prodrive brake upgrade is.

This was his his father's private car and not a company car.

David, again many thanks.

This convinced me to start saving my pennies to have the upgrade.

You wont go wrong using Lavender Hill.

R N Golden, New Mill, Huddersfield.

Can't fault any of their departments!

Matt, Mike and Robert in Sales - all excellent, all offer personal service, assistance and aadvise.

Nigel in Service...what can I say - always helpful and willing to assist with any query/problem - however stupid it may be.

Bought my last Turbo from them...the P1...and no doubt the next one!!

Cheers lads....once VERY happy punter.

Hi All

I have edited and removed some of the post in this thread.

Negative comments are fine as long as they are factual...

Comments like

"Company X are Crap!"

are not acceptable,

Comments like

"I think Company X are Crap, because fact, fact, fact!"

are fine.

Cheers

Adams, Aylesbury.

Took over the Deerleap franchise around 2 years ago. Always found them to very friendly and helpfull, and always seems to look after my baby very well.

Listers of Worcester.

Extremely enthusiastic and very helpfull. A little more informal than some other dealers, but still very professional.

Definately one for the ultra enthusiast.

I thought about buying a MY00 from Listers. I wasn't too impressed when, on a couple of occasions, the salesman tried to convince me that the MY00s were in short supply. However he just happened to have a car coming in next week that was ordered by a company but the order had been cancelled. I knew from reading scoobynet that there was not a problem getting MY00 cars at that time & this was confirmed by Andrew Burt who seemed more honest than Listers.

A F Nobles, Penicuik

Used them today for the first time, for my 1,000 mile service. Very impressed, I arrived at 8am, and they knew i had to be back in Edinburgh for a meeting at 9am - car was straight into the workshop and was ready for 8:40, including being properly sponge washed.

Also gave me a voucher to get breakfast and coffee at the local Scotmid - nice touch!

Had a fleet of Justys outside for Courtesy Cars - service guy said it would be no problem to get one for the next time, even although it's a Dutch import.

Listers of Worcester.

Great when I was buying the car, although I know several people who have gone to other dealers and saved themselves £2000 against Listers prices.

Now it's all downhill.

Wanted a scoobysport backbox, they said that they would get one and fit it for me. After waiting 4 months went and got one myself!!!!!

Wanted prices for brake and suspension upgrades ( not prodrive ). Have made several enquiries with promises of phone calls. Still waiting.

Servicing, booked car in for 7,500 service giving a months notice and requesting a courtesy car. When I took car for service no courtesy car available.

The 15,000 service is due soon, if I don't get a courtesy car or am not happy with any aspect of the service, they won't be seeing me or my car again!!!!!!!!!!!!!
