Had day off work today - after 150mile round trip, a wallet that is now £100 lighter + a couple of hours outside in the cold - the swift gti now has gears again!
Lincoln tesco now has 99ron as i filled up there the other day, also shell garage for optimax at lincoln. There is a petrol station at caneby corner but it is a total + don't think they do super unleaded? I have a couple of bottles of octane booster in the boot if anyone is desparate, £4 each (thats what i paid, always keep some handy incase i can't find a garage with super!)
Think the lads from the north are planning on getting to blyton for around 8:30 so can meet up at caneby corner at 8:15 as its only a short drive to blyton from there.
ALL - Im guessing most are running impreza's but what other motors are going to be there? Bet i win the prize for the smallest engine - swift gti is only 1.3!

Glad everyone's getting their **** together I'm picking up my new pads this am and will be calling for food and fire extinguishers later. Then if the weather holds off I may give the car a polish and remove my O/S foglight for some extra breathing and fit my track wheels

I got enough food to feed 5 or 6 people (2 of us going), will there be some spare BBQ space to cook it all
I hope it isn't raining tonight too so I can give it a once over with some Detailing Spray and NXT Spray Wax (Note to Self: Must be cleaner than Corradoboys )

Mob is 07747 682926 if you need to get hold of me.
I'm going in the ...
...
...
Van.
Maybe not the smallest engine, but probably the slowest of the lot. Planning on doing a timed lap in it, just to see the difference between it and the car!!!

Right, what have I forgotten
Cleaned car, removed foglight to allow more air into modified airbox, track wheels (primed at 42psi), first aid kit and 2 fire extinguishers, 2x disposable BBQ's just in case of technical difficulties with Simon's nuclear powered one, sausages, burgers, buns, cheese, ketchup, water, fresh brake pads, tools to fit the pads, compressor, pressure gauge, Helen, CD with Fleetwood Mac's "The Chain" to set the scene, charge mobile phone. What else

Oh, and another thing whilst I'm hogging this thread (it is my thread after all),
7am at the Brickworks, and...
7.15am at the Trading Post for...
7.30am at Ferrybridge for...
8.15am at the petrol station for...
8.30am at the track.
Timing is a little optimistic so it may be more like 9am when we get to Blyton.

Just a couple of points for people to consider. At our last event we had our first (and I hope last) serious incident, which thankfully resulted in no personal injuries, but a written off car. This brought home to us how dangerous this can be which is why this time we will have fire extinguishers and a basic first aid kit. I will run through this tomorrow in the briefing, but please be aware...
5 cars on track, controlled by our superb 5 tennis ***** in a basket on an oil drum system
No overtaking
No racing, challenges to be settled with stopwatches
If there is an incident, the first cars on the scene must sound their horns to alert the marshal (who from now on is called Al ) and then vacate the track unless you are of use assisting the incident. No-one shall re-enter the track until the marshal says so, apart from the first car in the queue which shall be used to transport the marshal (with emergency equipment) to the scene.
Helmets must be worn by anyone in a car on the track, driver and passengers
5mph speed limit in the pit area
No lighting farts on the BBQ

Yes Dave, the car's going too. I'll be driving the WYIOC TRACKDAY SUPPORT VEHICLE

Fully support Dave's post.
You are buying a slice of private tarmac for the day. Not from the club but from Rallydrive... YOU are responsible for you, your passengers and the car you're driving. This is no different to any other Trackday.
The price is kept unbeliveably low because the frills and professional support are not there... We Police ourselves and the only person telling you what to do, on the track, is yourself... we'll provide the basics to ensure your day is safe, but ultimately the day and risks are yours.. just as the drive in and back again are... The track design and purposely keeping the cars on track low and not encouraging 'racing' means that BIG accidents are going to be highly, highly unlikely...
Common sense and the few rules that we do have pertain to the Pit area and short drive from the briefing area to the pit....
We find that this works wonderfully well and means you get simply the best bangs for your bucks....
I hope you have a brilliant day...

I believe Ruth (Howards wife) is going to be present, and the instructor for the day is Rachel ( I didn't see last times female instructor ). Howard was going to be there but apparantly has been called away on urgent WRC car development duties, and is gutted to be missing our event
Ruth is quite cute
