Thanks for reminding me, need to get some brake pads. There's about 2mm on the ones in, but I will fit some new ones to drive home with.

Keep me on the list for now but if anyone is interested in doing the tuition then Il pass on it incase box fails.

I dare say you could get away with it, there are only 2 straights long enough to get anywhere near 4th gear, and if you were to mjust hold on to those revs a little longer...

Could prove interesting from a spectator's point of view if nothing else

Talking of preparation, anybody got any idea where I could pick up some Silkolene Pro S 5w40 in or around the Leeds/Wakefield area, my usual supplier is out of stock?

Although not technically essential I'd like to change the oil before the trackday if possible

My brother is supposed to be coming along to spectate, and if there's enough interest he could bring his tyre press over for the day.
Probably be something like £5 per rim to swap 'em over.
Anyone think they'd be able to make use of it?

Barry, I'm popping over to Apex in Bradford later this morning for exactly that. Would you like me to get you a bottle ?

Andy, not sure whether anyone will be bringing any loose tyres, although I may have a spare couple of 205/45/17's kicking around by tomorrow. Won't have any room to transport them though, so will have to give them to someone on thursday for them to bring them down.

Corradoboy,

If you are nipping over to apex, best to double check if they have moved units. Bren was planning to move from enterprise way to the end of the 606 sometime around now.

Give them a bell to be safe.

Thanx for the offer however I fear your journey will prove fruitless as they are my usual supplier and I rang em Saturday only to be told they don't have any in stock

Dave Carter has just offered this....

Would there be enough people to justify these tradesmen turning up. I pointed out to Dave that we will probably have barely 60 people, unlike events at places like Elvington where there's a few hundred. I don't want to be negative as it is a good idea and graciously offered. What do you guys think ???

I think to be honest, the food/coffee/burger van will be a benefit and definately have its uses,

But like you say not too sure how profitable this will be for the owner though given the numbers.

obviously if price's are inflated to cover cost's, this would defeat the object and BBQ it would be.

I won't be shopping for merchandise on this particular day, as all my funds will have been extinguished on tyres fuel and underpants lol....

I agree with Mick.

Merchandise selling may be very limited, but the burgers and tea would get used.

If the caterer is happy with an honest appraisal of numbersand feels he can make something of it, then go for it.

Certainly save me having to eat black and crispy bratwurst sausages again...

If he turns it down then we have a gas cylinder and BBQ fall back..

Just playing Devils advocate here you understand but...

A) buying grub from catering van will cost more than supplying your own

B) selection may be limited and not to everyones taste/requirements

...and you get more say as to how much 'mechanically separated' crap there is if you buy the gear yourself

Don't realistically think it would be worth their time / effort TBH.

Disposable BBQ's been fine for the last 4 we've done, and there's nowt wrong with black and crispy bratwursts

I may have been born in the swinging sixties, danced in original Disco's to 'The Sweet' and the original 'Dancing Queen' (aah.. Fox on the Run.. Fabulous ) and fighting in the Falklands before some of you were born, but I'm a modern day Chairman with a democratic style...

We can still take the Barbie for those having had a little preparation and wishing their own quality M&S grub.. even though they'll be black and crispy at the end.

If the Caterer is aware of this, and to the possible low numbers, then having them there for those who'll be happy to pay for the various food goods and tea he or she will provide, then I see no issue......

Discuss further...

If people really want to buy food then there is an ice-cream parlour in blyton - sure they must do other food aswell?

Oh yes, and after a short trip to the local scrappy yesterday the swift's gearbox has now pretty much seized (had to drive the 10miles home in 2nd gear as this is all i could get!) Just trying to talk the Mrs into letting me take the scoob, not going down too well at the mo!

il still be going, even if i just do a few snail-pace laps!

See you guys there!

I am pretty sure Low Cost (Or Kost) Performance in Cleckheaton sell it as well, I think I saw it when I was looking for the Motul 300V Power Racing 5w-30 I used in mine...

Corradoboy, which way are you travelling to Ferry Bridge via m8y?

Paul, I too will be trailering and even though I went last time do not remember the way. However the convoy last year went at such a pace no-one got left behind.

As Kev says, we keep the convoy at a steady pace as it would not be fair if the pace-setter got everyone a ticket, and it is highly likely that the vans will be out in force on the lightly used M18/180, with its good visibility and smooth surface

For any Leeds folk, I shall be doing a pre-meet-up meet-up at The Brickworks on the edge of Drig by J.27 at 7am sharp, ready for the run over to the proper meet-up at Ferrybridge for 7.30am.

Alan,

I'll probably meet you down at the Trading Post too!

Also, can someone bring the BBQ back for me, as I won't be stopping all day . . after 5 1/2 months of waiting I complete on my house on Friday, so I'll be off to do some decorating

Sounds good to me matey.

I'd also like to add a passenger/spectator with a broken leg to my car.

How much do I need to pay for him?

As this is my first time on track & with an old car which is very likely to die soon, I'd appreciate any tips/advice on what to bring etc.

Spectators are £5 each, IIRC, though a broken leg may be seen as a small inconvenience by your mate, those offering passenger laps may baulk at the extra weight of the pot

Given your description of the car I'd bring a trailer if I were you.

Is that the M621 junction?
Am I better meeting there if coming over the pennines from Lancashire?

Cars driveable, but not "ready" New suspension is on but the alignment is all over the place (-3 camber on the rear ) resulting in some interesting handling ah well it will be a laugh
