Obviously people pull out and all. But say 3-4 scoobys with me, 2-3 with renno, maybe 2 with john mac. thats maybe 11. So 10-15 maybe. Depends. We'll know better closer to date!! Posted up 555 club (so called joke Subaru Club of Ireland ) so maybe few from that. Might figures upto 20 plus. We'll see closer to date!!

You joined up to scoobynet just to say that. And you can keep an eye out all you like. Muppet. For the amount of subarus driving about ireland the club is a JOKE!!! Never see advertising or anything like that to encourage new members to join. Absolutely nothing. You can try defend it all you like but it won't change the truth!!

Default 555 club

MY REPLY ON 555 CLUB TO ANYONE INTERESTED!!!!!:thumb:

People getting their aul pantys in a twist for nothing. For all the subarus around ireland this being the subaru club of ireland is a joke. Fact that a lot more people are saying it then me must mean something. People can shoot the messenger all they want doesn't change facts. I'm not slagging any person as an individual so no point anyone taking it personally. But as said earlier people feel the same and getting the big list of rules makes club seem like full old men which deters possible new members from joining. Which is not a positive thing. Club should be an all ireland club north and south. Ireland isn't that big and we could easily have meets every couple months and a club with a good 400-500 plus members. Advertising is key word here and it doesn't happen here. For all the subarus in all ireland and you'd be lucky some days here there'd be 1 -2 posts. Now thats not right!!!

and i thought us guys in the north had problems

clare is right. any O/T should be put in another thread. any bitchin to be done needs to be done in an adult manner. if you have problems resorting to childish namecalling benefits no one and soon deteriorate into a thread that people read just to get their jollies for the day instead of reading it to gain information. so wise up fellas, either use another thread, infact use another forum please for your childish, throw the toys out of the pram antics.

put your views forward about the 555club in a structured well mannered way giving your side of the story and why you think it could be better. it's very well saying it's a joke and it's crap, well if that's the case come up with some constructive ways to make it better. this meet is one way to build relations and bridges for people who have a genuine interest in their subarus. if we get one organised down south in the summer it will go along way to cementing the modified car scene in ireland.

we have one of the biggest untapped car mod scenes anywhere in europe, so let's show other people that we are sensible and serious about our hobbies and not some stupid wee lads, measuring the size of our dicks for one-up-manship.

@NAF/SammyH can you remove any Off Topic replies in this thread please.

cheers

sinky

You go girl! And dead right too. Also by the amount of interest thats been raised i'll suggest switching the Dublin meet around the corner from the Pavillions to the Airside car park which is much bigger and relatively easy to get to.If travelling north on the M1 take the Drinan Interchange ,which is the next exit after the Airport exit, off the motorway which will lead you straight to the carpark.Whaddya think?

I heard rumours last week that car meets which involved organised convoys moving between one or more locations now must be approved by the Parades commission. As this outfit takes 28 days to make up its mind we are right at the limit for time already.

I have also been told that in the event of a road traffic collision during such an event if the parades commission have not approved the route the PSNI will note this and inform insurers. Potentially this provides a loophole for insurers to walk away.

See here;
http://www.jon44w.co.uk/forum/viewthread.php?tid=68349

and here
http://www.ulsternet-ni.co.uk/ugazette/gpages/GMAIN.htm

Personally I dont find this a surprise, but do think it is somewhat ridiculous. My preference would be not to bend the rules, as personally I can not afford to fall foul of something like this.

I haven't taken time to check up on the Parades commission's mandate but I am sure it had damn all to do with non-contentious and apolitical vehicle convoys.

Wonder if we can get around this by making it a charity event or something - each of us chuck in a tenner for a nominated charity.

Comments - in the new thread, dont wish to hijack this one.

Now now everyone is entitled to their opinion. they guy is just stating what could happen and asking us to take it under consideration, if anyone with the full facts wants to stay away then that's their decision, no one elses.

you guys need a serious 1/4 mile session to get the old adrenilin outta your systems, settle a few grudges and shut a few people up.

Clare, fancy organising a 1/4 mile event (by the looks of things it would need to be soon).
