Great fun though. Left DrP on A6 as I split off to Glossop.
Thought it was just me at first but we were going for it , I was right behind you and he just pulled out on me couldn't believe it. I then lost you guys, just as we were having abit of fun.
Not to worry it didn't ruin the day

To answer your question MartinSTI when we went past the white punto i was doing to much so you were right in saying we'd be walking for 6 months it could well of been 12 months but not to worry. Best bit was when we went past that long line of cars up the hill, my missus thought i'd gone a bit mad, nice to see you followed me. I'm looking forward to meeting up again see you soon.

Take no notice of Chris and stick with your silver wheels - they look tons better than Chavtastic gold ones

Dico, get the pics and video sorted, Noticed your camera man.

Passing those cars was mad. At one stage I couldn't see due to all the **** on screen.

I knew the Punto wouldn't follow that though.

He was a bit game for what looked a standard car. Certainly decided that he wasn't letting Warren past.

How come you seemed to stop in Buxton?

I only caught up with DrP on the A6 by pass and that was after passing 4 cars at once on the Golf course road out of Buxton.

Was a fun day but I dont condone the actions that we took to try and catch up with Chris CW42.

Just for a bit of info guys, I've a certain respect for the A515 Ashbourne to Buxton road, bourne out of Barnesy, one of our long term members getting done on it last year. The Police officer who caught him came from nowhere, as thier hiding places are very good So, if we're ever along that road again, be warned. I know I shot off in front, but as a front runner, you can always leave people behind, and that is not meant as some form of boast. I know where I'm going cause I'm leading you lot (in this case though, you all knew we were going to Buxton, so no need to keep a steady pace) but the main reason you can get away at the front is that your the first to come to any slower drivers in front, so can assess any given situation. Your not stuck behind another scooby, waiting for him to make his move before you do
We do need to have a chat at the next meet about driving in convoys, as we have over the years developed a good system for keeping safety up, while maintaining a good pace.

I would also suggest that any more banter about driving over the limit on any public roads be kept to a minimum on this PUBLIC forum, and discussed in PRIVATE at the next meeting I'm not perfect either, but I've no need to tell everyone how fast I've been driving

And finally, don't forget a simple "you have pm" about your latest expliots is much safer for all concerned, and better in the long run for the image of the club.

Big thanks for reading, please don't think I'm having a go, just pointing out that the forum vultures are not far away, and love nothing more than posts about "going fast on the public highway" to try and make us look bad

Having spent the past year on the Subaru Forester forums, where there are lots of our cousins from across the pond and they are really **** about anything to so with racing or driving beyond the speed limits.

More frightenened about being sued than saying you shouldnt do it

Just hope this culture doesnt spread over here!

Mykp, I'm not sure I understand, do you mean we should be allowed to say anything we want on here? I'd like to think the same, if thats the case, but like I said, there are those on here who pounce on such postings, as was displayed by BIGRIMS20 the other week

The private forums are all very well beefy, but do stiffle our profile somewhat. When we had them last time, I noticed a big drop in posts on scoobynet. I think a little restraint is all that is needed.

Chris,

No I meant that its a pity we cant say what we want, that people get offended. But best we dont say what we like as somebody might take offence and sue our ****!

I think they call it self censorship.

Its a pity that people MIGHT get offended and MIGHT take offense. Especially in a forum where all posts are open to all to view. Remember you never know whos reading!

Thanks for clearing that up mike I know what you mean, it would be nice to be able to tell the world about our driving exploits, in all the gory details , but we have to be careful out there on the www
See you soon m8,
