SMACS to the midland meet sunday 5th feb

I've been pm'd by skoosh of the staffs scooby club, who is arranging a convoy over to the midlands scoobys meet in Shardlow, Derbys. The convoy will meet around in Stoke, just off the A50 at 11:45 am for a 12 midday departure to Shardlow. There will then be a 45 min run with 20+ scoobys in convoy to the main meet at the Clockhouse Pub in Shardlow, which I can personally vouch for, as the food there is excellent :)
This was my first ever proper scooby meet back in 2003, and we got a warm reception back then, and I'm sure we'd get the same now. So, who's up for it? I will be with children, as the wife is on a late shift, so we're not going to be driving remotely quickly, very sedate in fact, and I'm sure I can get a good route back from Shardlow to Stockport :)
I propose we all meet at our new venue, the Unicorn, sk92ln for 10:15 for a 10:30 start, multimap has us in stoke 45 mins later :)
The total distance would be around 130 miles for the day, but don't quote me on that :nono:

Come one, come all.

Hi Guys, bring as many as you can, you'll all enjoy yourselves I can guarentee it. Good run down the A50, good bunch of people and a cracking pub with good food and drink.

Normally 30-50 attendees and a pretty friendly lot over in Derby.

Hope to see a few of you then.

C ya.

Cheers skoosh, we're getting a very busy events diary ourselves at the moment, and days out like this give us a chance to include the family too :)
See you soon,

bttt for steelx, just waiting for confirmation from skoosh about the tescos in Stoke to meet at. I've a good idea where it is, just need to confirm.
It will only take us an hour from the Unicorn to the first meet anyway, so looking at a 10:30am meet for a 11am start, meet at Stoke for a midday run to the pub in Derbyshire.
Home will be via the A515 Ashbourne to Buxton Road, watch out for police Barnesy! :)

chris.

Ok, this is a definate goer this sunday :) I'm meeting up with most of you at the Unicorn at 10:30am on sunday morning. We'll set off not long after then, on a nice steady family friendly pace down to the first meet in stoke. I'm still waiting on skoosh to give me confirmation of the right Tesco's to meet at, but I'm 99% sure I've got the right one anyway.
After the meal, and looking at all the nice scoobys, we'll head back around 3pm ish up the A50 and onto the A515 through Ashbourne and Buxton and back home.
This looks like being a massive turnout, and all in memory of Chris :)
See you all sunday,
Chris.

cw42 04 February 2006 08:34 AM

Ok, steelx, and anyone else who finds themselves driving UP to the unicorn for this meet tomorrow: Meet us here just after the roundabout, and drive a little way down the A34 heading to stoke.
We'll be driving through around 11:15am tomorrow morning, see you there :)
chris.

SteelX 04 February 2006 10:03 AM

A little further down the A34, out of Congleton (about a mile), you pass Astbury which is easily spotted as there is a large Church steeple set back on your left. Not far past that is a lay-by on the left. We will be there. Will txt when we park up.

Steel

cw42 04 February 2006 10:57 AM

K, see you there :)

mykp 04 February 2006 01:43 PM

Might be able to make it tommorow. All down to the wife! :wonder:

If so I take it your gonna drive through Alderley Edge or Macclesfield to get to Congleton? I'll either see you at Astbury (The layby is near to Little Moreton hall?) or i'll be tootling along the A34 causing conjestion :nono:

Will drop chris an email later if where attending.

mike

cw42 04 February 2006 04:24 PM

mykp, steelx is meeting us just after the roundabout in congleton, on the a34 :) he's the guy in the WR1 :)
Hopefully see you there tomorrow, tell the wife it's a nice meal out, which it really is, and she'll love the sight of all the other scoobys too :)

chris.

scoobyverysoon 04 February 2006 05:09 PM

me and the G/F should be there tomorrow (as long as I can get up that is)

just cleaned the car and had a go on putting the scoobysmacs sticker on - my god what a pain in the ass.:freak3: - its on but its not perfect

we will meet you at the unicorn all being well - I am going to fill up at that shell garage next to the pub - hows fuel there any reported bad tanks?

regards

Justin

mykp 04 February 2006 05:42 PM

Justin,

I fill up there quite a lot and never had a problem, only problem is the price
