Cool Changed my model type <<<<<<<<

I fancied a change, and changed to my silver forester model. They didnt have the 2.0 S-Turbo in the drop down, so blagging the 2.5 XT badge till can legitimately run the STI badge and whatvere colour we end up with

really not sure tbh, generally half what they retail at I guess...I'm sure there was some RS-GT's for sale recently, I think they needed refurbishing though

Hi fellow wagon owners, i have got a problem trying to change the suspension springs on my car, apparently the wagon springs on the rear are longer than the saloon, is this correct? so most kits would not suit a wagon as they are made for saloons, how can i lower it without buying coilovers? there are some nice low wagons on this thread, what have you done?
cheers

Thumbs up

Welcome

Nots sure about Classics, maybe Trails can answer. But AFAIK, they are same as a saloon, classics may be different but on my new age WRX I had the Prodrive/WR Sport Springs that are actually Eibachs and they were same part number as saloons.

Anybody else

nope, exactly the same running gear as the salons...as Steve says even the part numbers are identical...Eibachs will give you around a 25\30mm drop and h&R around 40\50mm

Steve's on standard v5 sti struts and springs which are 25\30 lower than standard and quite a lot stiffer.

I'm running Eibachs with Cusco top mounts, Whiteline solid front/rear drop links and adjustable rear arb...with some Group N tarmac KYB's to go on

Looks like i will go for the tein or eibach lowering springs then, i already have whiteline front/rear drop links, arb and anti lift kit, i have found somewhere on ebay that sell the teins for £140 delivered.

i think the teins are a similar drop to the H&R springs,,,a quick search in the handling section will confirm either way you will have a sorted set up

My wagon is lowered with H+R springs (see my profile) it is lowered about 40mm, it handles great as well.

Default How far can a Wagon lower ?

As soon as i can get the Wagon into the workshop I have a set of these waiting to be fitted, KW automotive GmbH -- Gewindefahrwerke -- Sportfahrwerke -- Suspension

Excited is an understatement as the poor girl has a serious case of "**** Sag" at the moment, the front rides SO much higher than the rear. The major problem is that I am running 225x40x18 tyres, to compensate for rub I have already had the back arches cut back, rolled and flaired. I was amazed how different the rear panels are for wheel clearance compaired to the my friends similar MY UK2000 Saloon.

Over the next few weeks I shall be attempting to find out all extremes of the Wagon's new legs. Sadly I dont have a private track to get the hours in, so the daily drive to work along Northamptons finest silky smooth roads will be the test bed, maybe a trip to see her uncle Paul at Zen to get some advice will be in order too ?

Will keep you Wagoneers posted, will try to get a short write up of the swap too just incase of any pitfalls that could save somebody else any grief. (Bushes/ARB's/etc coming soon methinks.)
