You mean a WRX300 is basically a standard WRX with different interior, etc. and PPP fitted as standard....

I have heard that some 55 WRX300 have the Prodrive WR spoiler on (dont say its a UK300 spoiler as this will confuse this thread completely!). I enquired about what this (as I saw it as an option) was but never got a reply, so assume it was the same as the one fitted as standard on the UK300....

Apologies, I was talking about the WRX300, I stand corrected. Just read power figures straight of the Subaru website. Dont think PPP was standard though although I understand there is now an insurance rating for the WRX (not UK!) 300.

This is my bonny lad, he is, guess the number.
He has ppp fitted, with the big exhaust, and is 265 bhp. UK300 is on the sides and the back, all the mats have uk300 on then, even the boot mat. His number is next to the ashtray infront of the gearstick.
Compare this to yours

There's a user on SN who bought a 55 plate WRX300 and it has the low-level spoiler and he's a bit annoyed because they've now started fitting the Prodrive WR spoiler ( ) as standard, which is obviously a much more desirable fitment (I have one on my bugeye WRX )

(apologies for the thread hijack....... )

The ppp was not fitted when new. Was fitted a couple of years later. 265 bhp was the case on 2003 fittings, as subaru fitting dealer assured me

Yes, PPP was fitted as standard on a WRX300 or moreover in some cases at the first service. How else could they quote such high PS and Torque if it was a standard WRX.....!!!

Ahhh, Ok, starts to make sense now, but personally I don't like the Prodrive WR spoiler.....

On the Subaru website for the WRX300, all of the power figures were qualified stating "if fitted with optional ppp" so I suppose this is how they quote such high figures. If as you say ppp is sometimes fitted at the first service it is therefore not fitted as "standard" my friend i.e. you dont have to have it.

I think you find its the model year of the car that determines the 245 or 265 BHP difference, not the year the PPP pack was fitted.

Therefore bugeye pre MY03 cars are 245bhp after PPP and
blobeys MY03 on are 265bhp after PPP.
I don't think there any figures out yet for MY06 PPP cars.

To be honest, it looks like its got black un-painted Morrette Front Lights.... rather than the standard UK300 front lights.

IMO, its a copy.... but it shouldnt put you off, there are better things out there than PPP.

Cheers,
Grant

I think that a new Ecutek PPP was developed rather than the piggyback one used on the earlier PPP cars. So if a later version PPP is fitted to a Bugeye WRX/UK300 then it will surely have 265ps then ?

Didn't know that, sorry for the bum steer. I thought all bugeye had piggyback ones and only later cars had the replacment ECU.

A little knowledge is very dangerous.........

Look Dude I am fed with arguing with you! I have one, it was fitted with PPP from new, I never paid for it. I have a written letter from Subaru saying PPP fitted as standard. I have the original brochure. There is a thread regarding PPP and the WRX300. Why would they quote in the specs of the car figures with 'optional PPP'. The specs quoted on the Subaru UK web site had a '*' by it and later down in the page it said 'these figures are with PPP fitted'. It never said 'optional PPP'. If you want start a thread asking 'how many people took up the optional PPP on a WRX300'.....stand back and get flamed...

Please WRX300 owners someone back me up! I am in Malaysia and flying back today! I will be straight to the scanner when I get home....

http://www.subaru-impreza.org/impreza-brochures.shtml

Download the WRX300 brochure here and TELL ME where it says optional PPP...

I see the Subaru UK page for the WRX 300 is conveniently down at the moment.....

Anyway, has the original poster found out if this car IS a UK300?

the ppp on the wrx300 IS standard. not optional. if you did not want the ppp you could choose not to but you would be modifiying a standard car
