this is my beast!! my problem is when i bought it the chap said it was the wrxuk300, it has the stickers on it, but it has no vechicle number by the gearstick! thery are sposed to have 265bhp aswell, but doesnt feel that fast. is they any way of telling if its had the uprated ecu put in it?

Body kit looks right, single or twin exhaust backbox??

Yes, get in touch with IM and give them the car's details they can tel you whether its had the PPP pack added or not.

IIRC the UK300 had 240ish bhp, not 260, that was the figure for the torque. HOWEVER, it only provides those gains if run on SUL, are you running it on SUL?

do you have the IM contact details m8?

If the backbox has one pipe, not two, then that's also encouraging. Is there any blue pipework under the bonnet, specifically the intercooler hose?

I don't have the contact details mate, I'm sure someone on here will; many have gone down the same route. If not, do a google search for them.

Do take on board the comments about the fuel though.

Good luck.

yep its all there

The UK300 DOES have 261 BHP (265ps) and 348 Nm of torque:) . Check out the Subaru official website as it is still on there.

It should have single pipe prodrive exhaust/de cat, a blue intercooler pipe, revised ECU and a certificate of installation from Prodrive! Just ring Subaru UK and they should be able to tell you straight away. If they say no then I would say it's very doubtful.

Kev_turbo 09 January 2006 01:14 PM

It will; be 261bhp if the orignal buyer opted for the PPP. it wasn't a factory fit option but was available through the dealer network.

IM - 0121 557 2112 I think thats the technical line. HTH

There have been two UK 300s though haven't there, one for the Bugeye (which had less than 260bhp) and one for the blobeye (which had 260)

Also, the latter comes with PPP as standard, it was an option on the former (you could just have the body mods)

Isn't this car a bugeye?

NS04

MattW 09 January 2006 01:52 PM

The WRX 300 had PPP as standard

Edited to say, that was an MY04 or 5 IIRC

mAk78 09 January 2006 01:56 PM

shouldn't it have a front black splitter?! or was this optional? or perhaps removable??

woolz 09 January 2006 03:19 PM

yeh its the bug eyed version:

WELBY 09 January 2006 06:42 PM

The limited edition number on a uk300 is on the little flap above the rear view mirror..
It also says "impreza wrx uk300" on the log book..

Non ppp uk300 = 215bhp
ppp uk300= 245bhp

the easiest way to tell if it has ppp is to lift the bonnet and look at the hose on the left hand side (as you look from the front of the car) of the intercooler, if it is blue with prodrive on it then the chances are that it has ppp, if it is black, then it probably hasnt.

hope this helps

I'm with WELBY, they brought out the Bug-eye UK300 before the first STI Type Uks where launched. IIRC, it was an attempt to lap up some of the demand for the eagerly awaited UK STIs.

This is a WRX300 not a UK300 which the thread is about.......

Actually...this is correct for a WRX300 :) ;)

woolz 09 January 2006 08:39 PM

if anyone is near essex and fancies taking my car for a drive to see what they think it might be- then feel free lol!

Trap2Terrorist 09 January 2006 08:44 PM

It has the correct spoiler for a UK300 (the older WRX300 still had the ironing board) and the correct headlights.
However it should definately have a x/300 number inside the cabin and it should have the UK300 sticker under the WRX badge on the boot AND under the side repeaters.

It doesn't necessarily have the single Prodrive exhaust either, depends if it has PPP.

See the pic below, you can make out the UK300 stickers on the car....

edit: sorry about the multiple pics - dodgy "V" key (paste)

Marky9074 09 January 2006 08:58 PM

Barretts made one 'one off' car which was heavily overpriced (hence why noone bought it) that was essentially all the bits of the Prodrive bin added on to a WRX...

This come out a few months before the official UK300 come out on the bug eye.....

You havent ended up with this one have you?

....and people stop confusing the UK300 with the WRX300

bluenosewrx 09 January 2006 10:23 PM

Sure it had a black front splitter as standard as this one has not. maybe they took it of, the wheels spoiler and lights look right though,

Marky9074 09 January 2006 11:45 PM

Not sure if anyone has noticed this but....

There are no UK300 stickers under the side indicators.....

......where exactly do you have stickers saying UK300??

As for the log book, do not agree with above as my log book says WRX, and mine defo is a WRX300 :) do a search and there are lots of threads with people saying that their log book does not tie up. For example WR1 saying STI (though some do say STI WR1) and so on....

Ditto. Well said that man. the WRX300 is basically a standard WRX with different interior, etc. and optional PPP. I believe the WRX300's sold in the last few months are fitted with the UK300 spoiler but previously they were sold with the low-level spoiler.

woolz 10 January 2006 11:02 AM

it has the uk300 badge under the wrx badge and also on the inercooler???

Trap2Terrorist 10 January 2006 11:10 AM

It should have the UK300 stickers under the WRX badge on the boot and under both side repeaters on the front wings, (unless they made yours at a time when they didn't have any UK300 stickers in stock?!?!).
