Andy,
I think Halifax council might have a few pence left to grit the roads just for you
Seriously though my parents live in the back of beyond and if they get snowed in they have to wait for it to melt. 2 years ago they had a 8 foot snow drift on the front of the house.
Its been pretty bad in Macc, took me over an hour to get to Buxton on Friday. But boy was it good fun, dont think the snow plough driver was too impressed though when I overtook him!

On the way there we went M60 then M62 then turned off past hollingworth lake and then through Littleborough aup to Rishworth Noor and then down the B6138 (very bumpy!!) to Mytholmroyd where we picked up my mates new car Skoda 1.8T 4x4 on the way back went through Sewerby Bridge and down to hudderfeild, I was going to go over to holmfirth but I said the road was shut!! so had a good blast over Woodhead into Glossop to the Optimax Station where I met a very sleepy Barnsey, I pulled up to his car revving the engine, he did not even see me until he had come back from filling up LOL
Any way Buxton was not that bad on Friday!!

That road up past hollingworth lake and into the hills past littleborough is really nice on a clear day, one of my mates lives up that way so I know it quite well.
