What the hell do tyre companies know anyway? I mean, he is only decreasing the overall contact patch between his car and road, endangering every passenger and every other road user. But, as before, i'm sure the old man will be back soon rambling on about how his views are saintly.

An impreza is a high performance car.. i don't see the point in such things as putting the tyre pressures up to prolong there life.. mine are set to get the most grip etc..
No offence intended by this but this is my personal view..
I would like to point out that this does not mean i abuse my car... it gets very regular servicing and if anything starts to get worn it is replaced straight away..

I drive how I actually feel happy driving it ..... with respect and mechanical sympathy
I cannot see the appeal in racing around looking like a right Chav .....
I do open her up now and again - and enjoy it - but, generally, its just used for getting to work and back and shopping trips ..................... I have the MX5 if I want REAL fun!!
Maybe thats why I also get 36MPG without any great effort whatsoever?

i guess as long as you drive the car how you feel happy driving it thats the most important thing.. As regards to the chav thing.. This seems to be the word for anything that people disagree with on here.. I am by no way a chav and never will be.. I have far too many standards for that.. My car is tastefully done up as in alloys, suspension and a p1 splitter. Oh and the obvious engine mods which make it a fair bit quicker than the standard ones.
I believe in using a car for its full purpouse (i take mine on the track to do this mainlt)
mx5 for real fun?? that sounds weird considerin you drive an impreza aswell.. I'd have thought it would be the other way round.. Driving a proper car over a hairdressers car!!
The only car i've driven that compares to an impreza for fun is an m3 csl!

And I thought you said that you were retired???
You lot can't seem to grasp the simple reality that you CAN be retired and collecting a Pension AND work too
You can work until you die if you wish, I started collecting my pension 17 years ago at 60 ........ that didn't stop me going back to work as a consultant when required - we don't grow on trees you know?? (unlike IT geeks who are 10 a penny)

I know Chavs don't see themselves as Chavs - and you honestly don't sound like one .................. but you have modified your car so that it goes faster (I have news for you, the standard Impreza is fast enough for most people!)
As you track it, then I understand a bit more ........ thats your track car - whats you normal car?? They cannot be the same thing as one doesn't work on the other.

In the same way that no-one would bully me now, they wouldn't then either .... I've always been a little bit unpredictable and LARGE!! - not a bullies target at all!!

I have a rover coupe turbo as well.. But the scoob is my road car as well.. Unfortunatly i don't have the finances to make a track car.. So mine is built to have good performance and handling while still retaining reliability and drivability.
