Dingy, you had something coming out of the car, water or fuel I'm not sure.

I looked for you at the start of the day, but you wasnt about. I do know that all the conversation I got out of Lawson on the way home was about how mental your motor is....

Dingy, glad it was only water. He just babbled on about how mental it is and I need to go for a ride in it.

Introductions are always hard at a track day. I just stood around and looked deeply into Craig's car but didn't say anything to Craig or Dingy - you were both embroiled in your conversations, and I was pushing around the little un in his push chair. Feel like a bit of a lemon going up to someone and saying "Hi Dingy, you don't know me but I'm robman from the scoobynet BBS. Gis a go in your car mister." :-)

Rob, thats how I got to go in the Ariel Atom. I saw the spare seat, walked up and said 'Giz a go mate!' blagged the ride of the day (for me anyway).

The Co-owner of the ariel was funny.

When we where queing up to sign on, i said to craig i wonder if its quick....It doesn't look very fast.

He was in the que in front, i just jokingly (is that a word) said to craig, i'm gonna dust him

The guy said "no i don't think so" At which point i said..."mmmm gonna make my day watching his face as i overtake him"

One session he was 3 cars in front....bye bye....pushed it round all the bends and it was so slow in a straight line.

He didn't say anything else..

funny from my point of view tho.

Was that the wacky thing parked next to you Dingy? The thing with a tube frame and no body work? Didn't look very fast.

But my earlier question still stands - what on earth was that thing that looked a bit like a westie front end and a h-u-u-u-g-e rear end with something like a V8 engine? And did anyone come up against it coming out of the hairpin 'cos it seemed to accelerate really well.

The atom felt like very good handling, but speed, well lets just say it needs a lot bigger engine. They now do one with 220bhp, that one had the 165bhp engine.

Yeah what a top day,

Pound for pound, bang for your buck Steve's(Dingy) car was the best fun I have had in a long time.Although he may have been driving like a nut to shut me up and stop me waffling on about my old RS2000
Missed a ride in the Atom gutted cos that looked like fun.
Gotta say probably one of the best trackdays I have been to.

Steve

PS Hope it was just a headgasket on the car Dingy

Steve, it was probably one of the best, because you wasn't being pestered every two mins with people going 'Steve can you have a look.....'

Twas a top day...

I managed to keep myself to myself and not start any fights LOL.

The best fun I had was an 8 lap game with a burgandy sapphire cossie on slicks...it was lots of fun. The nice man wouldn't let me by on the straights (or the corners) but it was a fun comparison between a 340bhp car and my little scooby. We had a good chat afterwards and both agreed it was a good laugh.

being forced to use 18" wheels from a resulting blowout the week before has massively increased my cars turn-in ability...but the cost of having to replace these tyres won't be so much fun

See you all at the next one.

Ian.
