Salsa, Phil,

I'll bring the mince pies etc.

Any chance of giving my Brother in law a ride on the track?

Cheers

Question

Can I enquire, is it SIDC only, or can I invite a couple of mates?

Cheers

Kevin.

Gents, and any laydees as well...,

The day is a Trackzone day (which is run by Donno), as well as having a few cars from Corporation Motorsport (5!!)

The day is open to ALL, ie non-SIDC with ANY car (hence my requests in the first post!)

I only suggested that you call Stef to make it a bit easier all round, you do not HAVE to pester the poor boy, you can vall the circuit direct.

This day was DEFINATELY happening on Monday lunchtime 'coz I spoke to the operations manager on his mobile and he gave the go-ahead there and then! That and the fact that he asked me a fortnight ago to see if you lot wanted to do it. It obviously takes a while to spread the word at the circuit though

And yes Andy, I know. See me on the day and I WILL MAKE SURE you get a session with me (ooeer!!) "Chestnuts roasting on an open fire..."

Rob.

Am I right in thinking that there will be some form of 'celebration' afterwards that may require bringing additional (non-imbibing) personnel?

Or will there just be the normal bomb burst departure?

(RobMac)?

Does anyone know if it's ok to take two cars to the track day and use one in the morning and one in the afternoon, for example? I didn't know they view it as pay per driver or per car?
Answers greatfuly received.

without everyone rushin' off (like Mike mentioned) get to know people better sort of thing, could be a bit of a office party!!!! as long as theres not a load of 'getting off' with each other!!!!!!!!!!!LOL

Still trying to sort out 'apres-track' and will let you know when it is sorted. It will either be at Donington in Redgate pub, in one of the larger hospitality suites (the most likely option at the moment), or go to a local hostelry.

The sessions, as intimated previously, are of 2x30 mins. sessions per hour, with a maximum of 35 cars on track in a session (making a maximum of 70 cars on the day!!)

DaveyB,
You can bring two cars if you like, but you can only have a track access sticker for the second car if you bring me the remains of the first one off of the first car. You will know me on the day, I am the person doing the briefing in the morning.

Question

RobMac, as you said you organised the P1 day at Dono - any chance of Subaru/Prodrive bringing one of the P1s back for a comparison

Never know, there may be others who'd consider upgrading after they've had a back-to-back drive!

Its the main reason I'm coming along....

Hope no-one has asked this before me.

What are the spectator facilities like, and how much is it to get in?

Regards

Cool

kurtw,

If its the same as the last one!!!

Spectating is free. Go by the main entrance and park behind the pits, sign posted Paddock I think. This may depend on numbers and what time you are arriving.
You can stand on the pit wall or in the grandstand.
There was a cafe open on the last day for hot drinks and bacon butties etc but this maybe closed due to the Christmas timing.

Lee.

Kryten,
If you want to compare a P1, I can try and get one there for you. I know a couple of friendly dealers who will let me have their car on track for you. Obviously, it's Crimbo time, so cannot promise...

Yosser,
Good to see you too!! Your best bet, if you haven't done so already, is phone Donno direct. And yes, I have asked Elton before if he could instruct on a Scooby day, but he could not make it!!! (just wait and see what we have been discussing for the future, it'll blow everybody's mind away!!!!! But it'll be expensive...)

Unhappy

Rob
Looks like I missed the boat - oh well I might come along and watch anyway.
It seems I'm not along on missing out though.
Sound interesting - look forward to hearing about it. It made all the difference having instructors take me round the track (never had that before) and the Elise was great.
See you

Michael

RobMac, a P1 there would be nice, but probably not too fair on the dealer that supplied it...

As my local dealer paid out to take me up for the P1 day on the 20th, if I buy one it will probably be from them - though if you can arrange one anyway I would love the chance to compare them on the day....

I'm expecting to find that the RB5 isn't too far behind the P1, so a sale isn't that likely. If the RB5 is 'ok' then the cash is far more likely to go on a brake upgrade, which I assume is the one area where the standard car is going to seem pretty inadequate: how many laps of Dono should I expect before the brakes start to fade and I need to back off and cool things down a bit?

Merry Xmas, I think not.

Anyone happy to give me a ride instead???
