Hi all,
just to add our thanks and appreciation for the hard work done by CharlieWhiskey & Scoobabe, a great day was had!

Being fairly new to all this it was great to meet such a friendly group of peeps.

Other thanks, Mr & Mrs Craft for the invite and letting us follow them (and their Soob) around all day, Banshi for giving us time to wake up whilst waiting for him at Birch services, Mellow for showing us that a P1 really can catch pigeons (and Ferrari's)
(BTW what was the name of the shop in Bury?) and Bob T for showin' us "the awesome power that IS the Fiesta" ESPECIALLY on 3 wheels!

Lookin' forward to the next one!

Steve, Carole and the girls.

Cool

Is there an echo in here Chris?

Yes, a top day, if I say so myself

Appologies for the weather & traffic after lunch, but even I can't organise everything

Big thanks to all three pubs who bent over backwards to help.

I'm now gonna take a backseat for the rest of the year (to give your credit cards a rest) but will be on the next Dales run & the Tour d'Ecosse

It's the folks who turn up who make the events what they are! Glad to see so many new people enjoying themselves!

Cheers to Amanda for her help & to Slider for the raffle

Same again sometime next year? - I don't mean exactly the same obviously

Chris

Thanx for a great day. Charlie Whiskey and Scooby Babe for organising it all, John for giving us a lift there and back, Michael for the pax on the first half, Chris for the second half and everyone else for been a great bunch. This is what makes the meets what they are.

Hope to see you all on the next run, whenever that is and hopefully I'll be awake this time to bring mine out.

Hey Mikey,
The tow rope betwwen us didn't help once I'd un-hooked it I found myself having to wait for you at several points.......didn't want you getting lost again
Having raced around Cadwell yesterday ( including may I add catching and passing Pete Croney's old Scoobysport car ) my tyres are even smoother......although I'd have to go some way to beat ChrisB's slicks

Salsa, there is something SERIOUSLY wrong with your car, I'm still not down to 1/4 tank yet having filled up the day before!

Mellow, you charmer! although Laura was a bit 'Oh my God I'm in heaven a car park full of scoobies!'

I'll stick to Gina & her double hand pump aerobics

Chris totally agree.

I was the person who rang MTR the evening before NM6 concerned about gung ho drivers wanting to prove their worth....you know what I mean.
I'm at Elvington on Saturday, Chris Clayton who organised last Sundays run is there also, I'll get the details of the said person and pass it onto you if you dont receive it in the meantime.
As I have intimated before, it's only a matter of time and I think a golden set of rules and guidelines with strict self policing, especially from the more experienced people within this community will go a long way. It seems that there are more and more families getting involved in our meets and that is something I'd like to encourage in the hope that my family too can be a part of our many organised events, as things are I know that it would be an uncomfortable place for them to be even at the respectful pace and coditions we usually keep to.
Here's hoping.

Yes I know ther were a few m8, but it was the last one that had a redhead with legs upto her armpits.
She was assisted behind the bar by some old slapper that Mellow was frantically texin' on the way to Cadwell on Monday

On a seriouse note, can I once again express my appreciation for the exeptional organisation of the day. This was complemented by a high standard of driving in, the many , groups I joined.

I was far more troubled driving home on the M1 than at any time during the meet! Enjoyed the day so much I am now trying to get a last minute booking on the tour d'ecoss!

Congratulations on a well structured and well managed event. Long may they continue

B

The Daves' pic of the Sport overtaking the caravan provides ample evidence of driving standards.

Notice the space between vehicles and the clear line of sight for the overtake.

Bloody Reckless IMHO

I'm sorry, but I hope you are joking banshi. If not then **** you! You were not there.

You may want to have another look, and see that Chris W had just overtaken before me, and that Salsa was about to overtake.

What you cant see in the picture is that the caravan was travelling at 30 - 40 mph, and that from our angle we could see right up the road. Also checked that it was clear from the top of the hill where photo taken from. I resent you comments.

Just to prove how incriminating photographic evedence can be......

What is perhaps not clear from the photo is that the bends were on a sweeping ess up the side of the valley. Visibility was very good from just a few yards before where the photo was taken - a clear road for over half a mile. As has been said, the caravan was travelling at around 35-40 mph, so not a dangerous overtake at all IMHO.

Regarding the space between the Scoobs, agian, relatively slow speed, and a bit of fore-shortening caused by telephoto lens.

All is explained

NP & DD
YOU MAY HAVE NOTICED THERE IS CURRENTLY A SERIOUS DEBATE REGARDING RUNS. I WAS AT ONE POINT TRAVELLING WITH THIS GROUP AND THIS IS A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF DRIVING STANDARDS OF THE GROUP AND THOSE AT THE MEET IN GENERAL!

MY COMMENT WAS AN, ADMITEDLY POOR, ATTEMPT AT IRONY. THEREFORE IT FAILED TO CONVEY THE INTENDED SENTIMENT. NO CRITICISM WAS MEANT, IN FACT QUITE THE REVERSE.

DD thanks for a polite, well constructed but unneccessary response. NP in the circumstances your outrage is understandable, but no offence was meant.

If I was concerned by your driving I certainly wouldn't highlight it on the bbs. There are numerous people that will confirm this.

Please accept an unreserved apology for any iritation this caused.

I was annoyed by the response to yet another set of unconfirmed allegtions of reckless driving which jeapordised these meets but
I should have ensured my comments were understood. If you require any further clarification of my position please let me know.

DD & NP: as you may know, irony improves with age, therefore when you get to Banshi's age nearly everything is ironic!

What he meant to point out is that the photograph clearly demonstrates the safe manner with which the manouver is being undertaken! This is in contrast to the perception of such meets by some parties, particularly in the light of

CW Thank you, concise and accurate as always.
Apologies to all for shouting. Arrived from the other thread totally frustrated by their failure to obtain accurate information before launching into widerange of unsubstantiated accusations.

Frankly I felt safer on that run than on my daily 100 mile plus round trip to and from work.

Guilty unless proven innocent? You bet!

Banshi,

thanks for the explanation - the irony in your post is now clear!

However, I felt obliged to point out what might not otherwise be obvious from the photo - ie; that the road ahead was clear, and the speed at which the move was made.

I had just posted in the thread you referred to, and chose these pictures precisely because they showed good behavior!
(not that there were any showing bad behavior you understand)
