Booost!!! Or Lack of! advice needed!
Well,
Went on the Saturday, Rich fitted the 3 port boost controller and remapped ecu again.
I am happy to report the ocillating boost problem was sorted.
Rich said they/he may have to adjust the error correction and responce time that the boost controller react to the rising boost.
I did some more testing in the following week and found when the engine was under load in 4th or 5 at 2500-2700, i would get a hesitation, i.e. the boost would rise and get throttled, it was like the start of the old problem but the ocillation did not continue.
So popped round to have a chat with Rich again from Power Station to explain what was what. Booked her in again this Monday to try adjusting the boost error rate time thingy !
.
So monday made a few tweeks and he sent me out to try on the road as opposed to mapping on the rolling road, this did not really help it was as if we where trying to treat the symptom and not the cause.
So then he changed the mapping for the boost controller again, he explained in high gears he lets the boost controller go open for aslong as poss to let the boost rise as quickly as poss and then slam off as the boost gets too high. He reduced this slam off point by only 100 rpm and hey prestoe ! it worked. Nice boosting turbo in 1,2,3,4 and 5
i am now VERY happy with the results.
Thanks to all who have commented and thanks to PowerStaion who came good. I now have some spair part for sale !
