i was there at the last stage on rally gb when he won the wrc i congratulated him telling he was no. 1 he was so happy as you can imagine with his girlfreind and father there this shows that you can be on top of the world 1 moment and at your lowest ebb the next

shows how mortal we all are

i hope his family and freinds can take positives about richard that he did not just live in this world but he was the best in the world and loved and respected

mark and martin we will remember you forever

Is there gonna be any Subaru show-out/event where we can all pay tribute to him, and maybe raise some pennies for cancer research?

I've only just found out, what a tragic loss not just for motorsport but for everyone who knew him or just admired him. He was a great ambasador for his sport and for the UK

My deepest condolences to his family, RIP Richard

R.I.P Richard Burns.

We were lucky enough to see him race.

Drove past Prodrive headquaters last week, and they were flying the flag at half mast.

This was on MLR, good tribute to the man, shows him doing what he loved and at his best, RIP Richard. Any dates of the funeral? shame that everyones so caught up in the whole george best affair kind of depriving Richard of something he deserves!

I think the funeral is private, but a public memorial service has been announced in London on Dec. 22nd - see the WRC site for details.

Also catch the repeat of Top Gear if you didn't see it tonight - they did a very touching item on Richard, Clarkson knew him well it seems.

It was a very sad day when they announced the news that Richard Burns had passed away and lost his battle against a long illness, he was a great champion and a very talented driver that will be sorely missed by a lot of people. RIP Richard.
