I have been making some enquiries about the Ford Priviledge scheme today and was told it's only available to direct employees only or their relations. Anyone working for a subsiduary or franchise apparantly doesn't qualify. Each Ford employee gets 3 vouchers per year.
I have a friend who is a senior salesman with Jaguar and even he can't help me.
To the people that have ordered so far;
1) What colour have you chosen?
2) Have you gone for 3 or 5 door?
3) What extras if any have you specified?
4) Will anyone be fitting stripes?

UK Car Broker quotes
I have used UK Car Broker before when buying an S2000 - no problems whatsoever. I emailed them a few days back re: the Focus ST 3 and they have quoted delivery for March (new plate) time. Shame really as this was a very tempting deal.

I've heard scary stories about another internet broker that initialy quotes a very attractive price then as it gets closer to delivery time they start to ramp the price up with no refund of your deposit if you change your mind. Not good.

From what i have heard these new Focus ST,s are a nice little package , but when ever i think st i think mondeo, not a good thought.
What really gets me down is the pioneer to the st series was the mondeo jobees and that to me was not a good foot to start on.
If these new st,s had an RS badge i would love one , but the st badge is a swear word to me.

I have been monitoring the progress of the Focus ST with interest as I am one of those eligible for the Ford discount. Read the review in Autocar this week which after re-reading went from luke warm to positive!!!! Next week apparentlly they have got a hot hatch shoot out which should be interesting, 8 hot hatches and one weekend with all the reviewers chipping in. If the Focus is near the top of the bunch then I'm def interested!!!
The stat of 10 seconds faster around a track than the Focus RS makes me think I should be interested in a test drive!! MPG from what I've read is better than alot of the motors compared to performance.
Definitely one to watch and test drive!!! Don't think I could stomach the Electric Orange though no matter how striking it made the car appear

I think you will be more interested if you go through this link.
Why not be one of the first to experience the thrill of the Focus ST engine by downloading the ringtone to your mobile, or get behind the wheel at www.newfocusst.co.uk.
Helped me to make a move.
Ordered one on Saturday. My wife did not want an orange ST.
When we went to browse she fell for it, as well as i did.

Had test drive this afternoon
Had a call from local dealer yesterday and managed to drive a 3 door orange ST-2 today.
Very impressed.
I was looking at moving into the fun practical car market again to replace a thirsty big SUV. As a point of reference I had previously owned an MY99 impreza for 5 years (280hp 250ft Ibs).
This particular version only had 50 miles on the clock and would obviously loosen up, but you wouldn't think this from the drive.
Exhaust note, both inside and out - absolutely lovely, very much like a slightly more agressive audi quattro. Seats and interior were better than my impreza, and rear / boot space was very good.
Ride was pretty impressive - considerably more comfortable than the new 330d M Sport that I drove last week. Throughout the test, I had a chance to drive both damp country lanes and dual carriageway with ESP turned off. Turn-in was good as was pick up from low revs. Slight torque steer was apparent at times, but I actually found this enjoyable. Never really felt the need to rev beyond 4.5k, but did so on the dual carriageway where it felt every bit as quick as a standard MY99.
Oh - and it grips - difficult to see where four wheel drive could be considerably better even on the lanes. Overall, an easy car to drive fast and too live with IMHO.

I have tried a dozen different Ford dealers this week to try to see a new ST. Not one of them has a car yet. They say that they will receive their model by the end of this week / early next week - but for showrooms only. Not to be sold until January.
However I couldn't wait and have ordered a ST-2 anyway, in Blue - the missus wouldn't go for the orange !

Never been in a Focus ST but they dont half shift, can only imagine what the new shape will be like, will have to get more power, to keep up with these new cars that keep coming out.

Thankfully there are plenty of other colours, other than the Orange which incidentally is the most expensive colour option, looks quite good in white actually, as does the Golf GTI.
White hot hatches making a comeback, who would have thought it !

If any of you are Military you get a 15% discount off the ST as with any Ford. They tried to fob me off at first with a load of dealer bulls*it but eventually my local Ford dealer said yes (didn't seem very happy though ). I'm off on Saturday to have a look, they quoted me £16,985 for an ST 2, five door in orange !!!!Happy hunting.

I think I read somewhere that the one to go for is the ST -1 + the option of traction control for £250.
My CTR is up for renewal early next year, and if I can get rid of this twitch in my eye everytime I mention "Ford", it looks a goer. With my company deal, a 5dr ST1 is looking about £20 a month cheaper than my Honda.

Looks very nice Wish, I'm considering one myself.
Any pics of the interior ? Looks like you went for the red option.
