True.. but you shouldnt be using a stirrer as these are not OEM parts, technically an aftermarket mod (could be insurance issues). I find if you dial in a little camber on the hob using say......... a couple of 2 pence pieces, this usually solves it.

Saves going the "Big Cost" way of Meile and Tescos finest!

Here's a couple of pics of the tyres as of this morning showing the damage to the shoulders.

Next stop is to get the geometry set back to normal.

For the info of all those who kindly chose to take an interest, the geo settings from April were set to:
Front Camber -1 degree 05 minutes
Front Toe 0 degrees 05 minutes

And these are the second set of fronts to go like this in six months, as I said originally, it really does pay to check your tyres regularly.

Thanks again for all your replies

Wow...

Wasn't expecting it to look that bad at all.. and not the type of wear i was expecting to see.. that looks more like it's been rubbing on something to be, more than the type of wear i'd expect from geometry setting..

If that is down to the Geometry then i better have a look at mine..

Wow

Its not the sort of wear that I would have expected from just geometry as well! I think you need to show those to the professionals and see what they say

Dave, still interested to hear the mileage you've covered and can you confirm if the toe settings were in or out.

I'm pretty sure that those are NOT Prodrive settings (they use more toe-in) BUT that is a very mild setting and noway would it cause the damage you've seen.

Either the alignment gear was badly setup and what is on your car is way different to those numbers, or there is something moving under load in your suspension. Either way you need to take it to a different outfit for a thorough check.

I had a very similar wear on a previous car of mine that was sat very low & had a lot of -ve camber, the wear on mine was caused due to rubbing on the inner arches. (Not set up by me) i had it raised & re-aligned and had no further problems

Have you checked on your car for signs of rubbing at all?

Right,
Final chapter of the story(hopefully).

Mo, The mileage since the revised geo setting was about 7-8k,
toe in was set at -5' at that time.

Car is and always has been standard ride height

Today I went to a local specialist who gave the whole thing a thorough going over.

Before settings:
left front camber: -0deg58'
toe: -0deg02'

Right front camber: -1deg03'
toe: -0deg02'

So pretty much similar to the revised setup 8k miles ago.

After(I asked for standard settings):
Front right camber: -0deg24'
toe: 0deg00'

Front left camber: -0deg24'
toe: 0deg00'

The car felt fine afterwards, after that the day went downhill as I had to go to Ikea but hopefully that will be the end to all my tyre wear worries,

Cheers
Dave
