a lot of these so called **** boxes are embarrassing serious motors these days .... Gutmann and I know all about that don't we mate

Perhaps it's the way forward instead of chucking serious money into a 22-30k motor.

Not three bad mate, not three bad ... was considering a session at the ring until I saw your crazily low personal lap record - I hope that was in the Scoob!!!

Saw a CTR fully stripped out and carbonified - expect that would be a lovely little track car.

Was an awesome blat at Bedford ... highlight of the day for me!

It depends what time your talking about? The 8mins 52 secs was in the pug. Yep it still only has 130bhp Any times lower than that were in my jap crap

I have to say it was probably the best part of the bedford day for me too. Wet twistys indeed

Lol ... yeh you needed big ***** to push the car on that particular day.

It's an impressive motor for sure (the pug that is) ... not thought about a turbo or something in it ... for the straights? Or would that upset the balance?

Thats the biggest pile of crap i've ever read on here.

They have their "characteristics", such as having bloody torx bolts everywhere, but in general they are as reliable as anything else you can get, and i've certainly never ever had anything fall off the car unless I was persuading it off myself

Just come back from Germany yesterday actually. Brought the old girl home for the winter and a rebuild. The engine will remain approx the same as it now power wise. I dont want to go mad as extra power usually means more un-reliability. Thats no good as I leave the car in germany. I need to get in, turn the key and it work every time.

Still at least when its abroad its not in the UK upsetting scoobs

There are a lot of 205's ending up on-track at the moment. As has been said strip it out then the bits cant rattle or fall off (if they ever did).

I see the 205 going the way of the MK2 escort myself. Infact the numbers are already increasing in local rally's. I put it down to MK2's starting to run out, shells are scarce and they are expensive.

You dont often hear this sort of conversation about Renault 5's / XR2i's or even the clio williams for that matter. Not that they are bad cars, just that the 205 seems to be most peoples chosen route at the moment.

Besides its such good fun when your asked how much power you have and you tell them 'no more than standard'.

I've had 7 Pugs, so I cant have been that "lucky" with every one.

People always say "bits fell off", and "interior fell apart", but what does that mean?

Did your wheels fall off, wings, doors, did the seats drop out every time you sat in it, or the windows fall out, or the dashboard slip out of the car, exactly what does "bits fell off" mean?

Pug's aren't built fantastically well - makes them an excellent track car though cos stripping them is easy.

I had some fun kicking the *** of many scoobs at the Ring. The WRX's simply weren't any competition at all, the STi's were more of a challenge but let's just say at full time it finished 4-1 to the Pug.

What bull about Pugs have you read about? Just to re-iterate i've had 7 now and no major problems, and i've never had any bits fall off either.

As for pride and joy being insulted, that doesnt bother me, though I doubt you'll find any true petrolhead that would slate either a Scoob or a 205 GTI/306 GTI. Please also find the post i've made where I slated a Scoob in this thread? You'll struggle to find it as I love them. Saying my Pug is faster than a Scoob is just a fact, not a slate.

I also love Scoobs as well so that doesnt really fit in with what your saying. You love Scoobs and hate Pugs, I like both marques especially the iconic 205 GTI and Impreza Turbo.

As for your last comment, I dont get it you've seen some std Pugs handling like boats? I've seen a few Justy's doing the same in my time

Have respect for both marques, but dont start toy chucking when you realise one can be faster than the other.

i've never read so much crap in my life . a faster standard pug to my scoob , you are having a laugh !! and i have seen a standard 205 1.9 losing it when i've been behind it having a cup of tea and a biscuit
that was whne they had just come out and i ws in an , hold your breath , XR2 , so if an XR2 could show a 1.6 205 the way home then it must be faster than a wrx,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM !!

lol.

Wrong again, I referred to my Pug as a "****box" so hardly bothered about insults.

There's only one type of person that owns one specific "marque" (and I use the term marque loosely) that takes instant offence to any negative points (irrespective of how true they are) about their car.

11 pages proves that. PMSL.

Let's be honest, this did happen, it was a straight, safe normal bit of road. The WRX was, and is no quicker. I had some fun with a 172 Cup and there was also nothing in it. We've also provided stats - are you really so thick to STILL argue the toss???? I hope that you are, cos the things you're saying are sheer entertainment.

This is great.

There is predicatable......and there is SCOOBYNET!!!!
