You're right, I do drive a BMW. I bought it for many reasons, I love the way they are built, the way they drive and the sound of the (imo) beautifully engineered six pot engine. Feeling important isn't one of those reasons though. There are far too many of them on the road for that. I just appreciate a well engineered, well built car with RWD, what's wrong with that?

I hate the current trend for 'blinging up' motors though. I prefer modding to be purely an engine/gearbox/suspension thing. Bolting on useless external tat just cheapens the look of any car. See here for more evidence http://www.barryboys.co.uk. Do you really want to fit in with this brigade?

You claim it's just for a laugh, but come off it, you neeeed to be noticed! Just admit it!

(All imho of course, flame suit at the ready).

I refer you back to my other post if I want to be noticed the why did I swap a very noticable car for a very unoticable one ?

The engines sound horrible as well and don' t get me started on the rubbish satnav and stereo system.

It's just a sign of the times we live in I suppose. To me, It seems that when people mod their cars in this way, it's all about getting other people to look at their 'phat motah' . It all just seems so shallow.

I wouldn't be seen dead in a car with spinners fitted, It's just a fad that's reached overkill. That's why I said "enjoy wasting your money", when the fad blows itself out you will be left with tasteless crap that you can't shift, why bother?

(Agree with the BMW stereo comment though, could be better I suppose.)

Don't you think that people take a cars image and driving way to seriously ?

Cars are supposed to be fun it irritates me when they become a statement about the person drving it. BMW tosser
Scoob Chav

Yes, I think that some people do take their cars and image too seriously. Whatever we drive, we are labelled a something or other, but going back to the original subject, for the life of me, I still just don't get the spinners thing. They look absolutely gash!

Leave 'em to the clueless barries.

Well, you've got a great car and no mistake. Love type R's. No I haven't got a 4x4. My car history since I joined this site is as follows; my00 uk turbo, my01 P1 and now a 330ci.

So I am labelled a gimp because I don't like showy external modifications? Jeez.
