Fishing trips
Carrying on from the wildlife thread in general I love a nice day out in the countryside, just like today, a few cans a range of bait and a good target. Pike is my favourite at the moment.
A sleepy back water maybe, somewhere where you know in the past the calm was disturbed by cut and thrust of a youthful pike who has thrashed the water to a foam as it launched out of the reeds. The thing is this type of pike usually bites down so hard that you have to wait a few months until the wounds of the previous encounter have healed before you can attempt to hook it again.
Which brings us neatly onto lures, you see i have found that pike tend to like lures or spinners.I've found this site invaluable Lures & Spinners - Lure & Spinner Fishing Tactics - Pike & Zander. and recently i have found that pike love lures, though generally the success of them is governed by the "weight, colour, actions of the lure and the speed of retrieval by the angler." Oh and a lot of patience
The problem with fishing the same areas though is that you tend to keep hooking the same fish and at times the thrill of catching the same predictable thrashing pike just wears off. So i think that i might try perch fishing, has anybody tried this??

Thanks i'll give them a look, i was thinking of going fishing abroad (hopefully the states this summer) and thinking about using
perch Fishing from Typhoon Enterprises
Pity the website is a bit pish, but hopefully the company will be ok, if not i'll try and hire something to intercept a few fish.
