Also, It was a 96mph in a 50mph altho I did think it was more with it being national speed limit, so what am I looking at if I have to pay the price??

Do you honestly think that 96 in a 50 limit is acceptable behaviour?

You could argue that the speed gun used to measure your speed was inacurate and that you could request to be shown a calibration certificate for that particular day.

But it seem even that is no guarentee of accuracy.

It is a matter of degree STi 04.

That really is a bit much I reckon by any standards.

Almost twice the limit... Even if it was a 70 zone which it wasnt, you deserve what you get and should have the bottle to take it on the chin...
Ya dance with the devil ya get burnt , and you're burning is making me laugh , laugh an awful lot Hee Hee....

Never get why so many people are anti-speeding here

I mean some of the limits just make no sense at all. Especially when it is clear and nobody is around.

Just hope it all turns out well for you. You really need help with your defence. If you do not find something to appeal on, I do not think that the result will be that nice for you :

No, there are many people here who do exceed speed limits but won't moan like fvck when they get busted.

Stop bleating and learn your lesson.....don't get caught.

I have always found that high speeds on dual carriageways are boring. What is really interesting is going round corners and you can do that in a good car fast and safely without breaking the law.

96 in a "whatever" speed restriction it was SO WHAT!!!!!

The question asked was had any-one had the same experience and got away with it?

When you drive a car capable of hitting the 180 mark you sometimes break the rules... unless you are one of those posers of the world , then it's for pulling the birds as as you're too ugly to get one in your "micra"..... but seriously -

Why on earth buy a supercar and drive it like a girl???

Like I said , If I get a ban <arnie voice> i'll be back!!!!
I'd rarther get away with it tho and terrorise the speed police on here.

God it's a good job I saw them and had started breaking when they got
me over 100 would have been bad

Aaron ------ Spank it will be.

Thanks for the lack of jugement and crisicism, unlike some. Sometimes the travellers doing 40 in 60 zones can be just as annoying.

If only Jeremy Clarkson could be PM then we may have a speed up campaign.

You do get a lot of pointless 50mph zones these days. Long stretches of dual carriage way that for some unknown reason is a 50, usually with a couple of speed cameras hidden behind signage and so on lurking.

I don't understand some of the anti speeding attitude on here at times either. 100mph on the motorway isn't fast in a modern car and it's very easy to fly off a roundabout foot to the floor up through the gears and into the three figure speeds in not a lot of time really. At night when there is nobody about it's no big deal really.

Good luck but I think the police are going to shaft you on this one. I'd be expecting a ban i'm afraid.

Thanks Ben
You're right about hitting high speeds quickly. Still, 10 years of fast cars and this will be my first offence so not too bad and a small ban will only make me more excited about getting back in the seat and maybe a little more cafeful.

Agree with you that there are a lot of pointless Speed Limits around. Also agree that many if not all of the SCAMERAS are simply money making machines.

Nevertheless, its utter irresponsible and pure stupidity to do just under twice the legal speed limit in a 50 mph zone. one could argue that 100-120 on a clear motorway in good driving conditions in a "SUPERCAR" (- which a subaru isnt - but i'll forgive you for your ignorance ) is safe (in the eyes of the law it obviously isnt), however in a 50mph, this is inexcusable and I's be very surprised if you got away with this.

TBH - reading your posts, you dont come across as being repentant at all "I'll be back", wtf is that all about?

Basically it is an example of selfish behaviour with no thought for other road users.

Public roads are not the place for that kind of speed excess over the posted limit, regardless of whether the limit seems to be inappropriate for the particular piece of road.

If you feel the need for that kind of speed, as many of us do of course, try a track day or two. Probably cost less than the fine anyway.

Trouble is you may find yourself left for dead by the experienced track drivers, its a bit more difficult than swanking about how fast you can drive in a straight line to normal road users.

Not many people are being anti speeding at all, think most people here woud have done 96 in a 50 before but most people are sensible enough to know when theyve been caught out and accept the punishment... I know if I was caught at that speed I wouldnt even dream about fighting it....

Les, You're allowed to have views and so am I. See thing is people come up with what they think I was doing - who said it was a straight road for instance, can you read or does your wanting to get your opinion in cloud things??? OPEN ROAD!!!!

Secondly - Track days...Last one I went to was full of chavs and a few accidents, and no I wasn't driving that day The abilities of some were good but the morons spoil it. I still prefer to go and find a nice spot of "straight road" on my own thank you.
