Personally I'm not a fan of the look of the car. I had exactly the same car as my first car, and my way of modifying it was to make subtle mods like suspension, wheels, brakes, and some "upgraded" Ford styling to look like:

However, aside from all that, if that's what floats your boat, then it's a cool car for you to be driving around in, and moving to an Impreza Sport should be a bit quicker (as I remember just how slow my 1.8 Si was!).

You'll move on to bigger and better things, but don't throw your money away on silly mods like lights and bodykits at such a young age - out the money towards buying a better car in the first place!

Don't like the rear lights or the scoop but other than that I think it looks

Ignore the other SN 'high n mighty's' if everyone drove the same car it would be pretty boring!

ford anglia 105e deluxe. 1600gt crossflow engine, rs wheel, full milton race prep suspension, all the little things like k&n filter etc. 2" ashleigh exhaust, uprated brakes.

i think it would have given your car a run for its money, probs would have lost misserabley but you never know...

Nice engine. 84bhp isnt it? Get a Zetec in there!!

Well my first car is a Locost with a 150bhp motorbike engine and weighs 450kg:P

I'd love an Anglia.

Yeh probably I'm gonna learn to drive in my dads scoob though.

It's gonna be a race only car (hillclimbing / RGB championship)

I recon a 2.0 zetec with throttle boddies, lumpy cam, 3 inch exhaust and probably a mini-atlas axle! Probably 200bhp outa that lot.

Wont hit near 200 unfortunately Its been done a lot, the 2.0 are 136PS off the mark (about 133bhp) with the cams, T/Bs and exhaust many are seeing around 185bhp

Yes it is. It may have something to do with airflow in a locost?? No idea where they were all dyno'd but its quite common. Also 280bhp out of a Duratec 2.0!!

turbo'ed though I assume? as thats hellish high power figure for an N/A, I know its possible, ive seen much much higher but it lasted five minutes before going pop with a silly compression ratio. I know the airflow is better on a locost, but to 15bhp through airflow? sounds a bit lax flower :S

No not turboed! But regularly rebuilt.

Probably not 15bhp but it will make a difference. Anyway 180 out of a 1.8 is common in Sevens.

Looks like a decent start to me i still had a bmx with white mags when i was 18.

I like the Escort, you have done a nice job m8

Dont take the critisism to heart though, take a look through most of the threads on this particular section and you'll see that most cars get the same reaction (I know mine has)

Enjoy it, sell it, get a Scoob, enjoy that, lifes too short m8

good luck

Hi tilly!

The car is actually well executed which is the main thing. Whether its to everyones taste is another matter.

Scoobynet seems to be full of people who will insult you if you do not agree with them.

Try www.sidc.co.uk not NEARLY as far up their own *****.

And anyway why buy a sport? Its slower than the escort

because in my eyes they're seen as a more prestige car and I want a nice looking four door to keep simple that'll still go

ROFL @ Ruth yup, ive been all over trying to decide on a car, originally my plan was a 2.0 focus because i always thought insurance on a sport was out of my range but its £1060 so yeah its a lot but im young, i expect to pay a lot I think compared to other cars for a young driver, a grand isnt bad

Fair play to you Tilly, your obviously a knowledgable chap.

Can't say your Escort is my own personal cuppa, but as long as you like it and enjoy it, thats the main thing.

Good luck with your quest for a sport
