Agreed the Viera is a great looking panel, but its certainly not the case that it blows away ANY other LCD or plasma on the market.

I have treid phoning Daewoo but their office is closed until monday so I have sent an email. I will definately try to get this sorted by them.

It is 14.5 months old, cost 1800 quid including delivery (only 850 quid now!!!!!). Has never been mistreated, just went BANG last night.

I'll let you know how I get on.

Cheers for the suggestions

Indeed.

Perhaps the OP should check out the latest Panny LCD (the 500 model) and the new Sony.

Manufacurers are only liable to the consumer where the goods that they have manufactured are dangerous: Consumer Protection Act 1987.

In most cases it is the retailer who is liable: Sale of Goods Act 1979; Sale and Supply of Goods Act 1994, limited to six years from date of purchase (five years in Scotland and NI).

Pete; you dropped the phone in a f*cking river. What do you expect them to do eh? Mend it for free? Give you a new one?

Someone asked why theyd want Freeview? The point is that it is all thatll be available soon, there wont be any analogue transmissions.....

That is good news; remember that the retailer was responsible, should it fail within the next four years or so.

Oooooooooooh, that's nice.

We're moving into a new flat in a few months time, where i'll get a wall mount and everything else properly fitted. Speakers in the bathroom and small LCD in the kitchen, but until then, i'll drool over it, as is.

As soon as i seen the Viera, i wanted one, as it looked so smart and clear. I will agree the black frame seems to make it look a bit clearer....might just be my eyesight now though!

Lol. We really only thought about the speakers, as it's WAY too expensive for a TV in there and we've now been in a few Hotels with speakers fitted and it's quite nice, when your in the bath.

Besides, as it's not nearly all built yet, it gives us a chance to fit everything the way it should be, before the walls are even up!

Should I get an LCD or a plasma to replace. I've seen reasonably cheap 37" phillips LCD screens and also 32" sony's that have got me thinking.

I don't know if I can trust a plasma again, but then again it was a daewoo and the model I have sells for only 800 quid now!
cant be bothered to read the whole thread.. but a top 37" LCD in Currys LG one, wicked quality and Hidef ready.. go to a big store and u see it running, will be blown away.

Sky are selling off all the ones they've been trying to sell through the magazines; just paid £1k for a 42" and £650 for a 32" including VAT, and from a genuine source before you ask.

They're Hitachi 32pd5200 / Hitachi 42pd5200, so pretty good kit, especially at that price

Oh Dave, I can see the wires running round the corner! That's a big no-no.

If you're gonna stick it on the wall at least chase the wires so it can't be seen

Still, I can't complain, my 43" Pioneer is on a glass stand, and behind it you can see 400 f*cking miles of various cables in every colour under the Sun. Damn !!

Misses needs changing

Aah, here's me telly... and err, there's me small wires hidden behind massive plastic boxing.

Seriously, trunking's gonna look fooking horrid, surely she would prefer it all hidden? Bit of plaster and a lick of paint, sorted.

I know it's not that easy, but well worth it.
