Frankly, I don't think this debate is of any importance. What can be acheived?

The trouble with the McCrirrick type opinion (and those of many on here) is that they are very much the "soundbite" style comments - ie, speak before you think.

Yeah....so easy to just "slag off Blair", but take time to think what YOU would do in the situation, and then think about what he did.

I think some of you would do well with a job in the press (preferably the Sunday Sport, or News of the World) Either that, or drive a white van

I don't know, that's why I asked. But if pushed, how does reactionary, up their own arseholes type sit?

dont be a ****....this isnt political -my politics are conservative and total opposite to PSLewis.

this is about common sense.....blair hates cook...cook hates blair.....why on earth should he go the funeral?

one things for sure.......if ****-head hadnt spoken up then the Cook family would have gone home with no negative feelings to Blair (prob glad he didnt show)....as it was they went home from the dad's/husbands funeral pissed off.

Don't even know if it's as bitter as that. On one side, you have those who say they had made their peace, and on the other, that they hadn't.

Who knows. Certainly none of us do.

Why can it not be as simple as "I'm on the other side of the world having my one & only family holiday!".

However, to simply come on here and say "Blair is a c*nt" with no other reasoning (post No.2 in particular) is just nonsensical.

Who the **** is McCrirrick anyway and why would anyone give a flying rats *** about his opinion?

Self aggrandising mouthpiece. A funeral is about showing respect for the bereaved and 'sharing' their loss - not the abuse of a moment in the spotlight to stir the ****.

Whether Blairs a **** or not is for another time and place - it was innapropriate & selfish to do what he did.

Robin Cook, was not someone who's politics I often agreed with. But.

If I had a business and had seen fit to promote him to be one of the most important men in my company for several years what would be the right thing to do. OK we fell out but these things happen.

He dies in tragic circumstances many years before his time. I'm the MD of the business on holiday...what do I do?

Oh stuff it send someone else he's dead. No one will notice. I only get about 3 months off a year.

It is old fashioned but sometimes people have to do the right thing.

Pissed I expect. It sounds like it was a bad move, even though he is right in principle.

That he is an unstable character was clearly demonstrated by his 'performance' in Big Brother.

What McCririck said was correct but not the right place to do it. CLSII is right too.

100% correct. The bloke looks like a complete uneducated arsehole and proved it beyond doubt. dl
