In theory, anything Subaru should qualify as a "Scooby", however would this board, and SIDC, exist at all were it not for the Turbo models? - let's face it, it's the Turbo/WRX that started it all. I've never driven a Sport, but have had a shot of the 1.6 FWD model (courtesy car) a long time ago, and it was quite ordinary - apart from the flat four tone that was still present - and cannot imagine for an instant that we'd have this community if Subaru only ever made the 1.6!!!

Now if we can only avoiding becoming divided over Turbo vs Non Turbo - this is not a contest...!

No I was not looking for a fight???? Just posted the signature which appears on my posts on another website. and was asking if this car was a scooby or not?

You will notice the cluster of stickers on the bottom left corner of the boot lid, one says IMPREZA, the other says AUTOSport. Oh and the big word across the centre says SUBARU

Don't think anyone's been too nasty about general Sports, i think it's the ones that pretend to be turbos and then fart away from the junction. And from what i've seen it's only a bit of jibbing.

The same as if i put some body kit on my car to make it look like a ferrari.

Idiotic.
there is a difference between performance mods and styling mods; performance mods enhance the existing car, whilst styling mods only change its appearance not the way it drives...sometimes even making it look like something it is not

Course its a scooby, thats a nick name for a Subaru...if you are so proud not having a scoop, why is your car facing the other way...and just how big is the chip on your shoulder anyway?

MR2 based Ferrari replica's, WTF is that all about??? I absolutely p1ss myself at the thought of people spending all that cash on summat that anyone with the slightest exposure to cars will know is a fraud.

Never had a problem waving at sports owners, but the way this lot are going on I might start "tarring with a singular brush!"

NWS - I will be very impressed if you tell me your STI engined sport has the styling of a GL. If not, summat to think about?

Ritchie.

Forgot about it ................the first motorsport Subaru I remember was the Legacy. Colin McRae, 1991 RAC Rally, IIRC?

Of course, many of the contributors to Scoobynet were still driving prams in 1991

1990 was when Subaru and Prodrive's partnership started. Subaru had been entering GP-A and before that GP-N Leone Turbos since four wheel drive cars were admitted into rallies in 1980 or thereabouts. The first real motorsport focused Subaru was the Legacy RS from February 1989.

NO TURBO - NO ****.

Cool I like that one, Im lucky enough not to have a **** anyway so Id imagine Scoobynet will 'allow' me to have my Impreza GX. Many thanks for that.

Yeah, Id love a turbo impreza, I cant afford one, its simple. I travel 50 miles a day, and at 32 and have only been driving for four years so my insurance is quite high.

One day, I will own a turbo impreza, but if it will make me turn out like you people with turbos then I just wont bother!

I make mine look like a turbo BECAUSE I WANT TO, its my choice, my car, all paid for. If it makes me look like a **** (I can be called a **** can I? I have one of those)then so be it, but im happy with my car, my kids love it, and my bloody mother loves it, and she hates everything I do!

So come on, come and have a laugh at my 'turbo lookalike' at Rally Day tomorrow. Tell me you hate it, and it looks crap if you like. Goes in one ear and out the other. My boyfriend and I live by our moto of 'Each to their own' and our Impreza is just how we like it.

When I logged in here yesterday, I saw SCOOBYNET, THE ONLINE SUBARU COMMUNITY. I think it should be changed to THE ONLINE SUBARU TURBO COMMUNITY. Obviously us sport owners are not welcome, so I for one will go somewhere, where I am.

Remember this tho people: The car manufacturer that designed and made my car, MADE YOURS

I realise its only a 'select few' on here who are like this, and to close I will thank all the lovely turbo drivers who wave at me beacuse I drive a Subaru

Thanks

Denise

There's nothing wrong with sports imo, as has been said before they're still an impreza and therefore a damn good looking car! I always wave at other impreza drivers, be it sport or turbo

It is threads like these that get would be members to decide Not to join the Forum.
Why I hear you ask?
Simple you never make people feel Part of the Community.
Where does it say Scoobynet Impreza Turbo Owners Forum? (I do not believe it Does.)

Oh and before i go any Further I Do own a Turbo Model not that it makes any Difference. Why i hear you say again?

When i put up my Impreza in the Members cars area, all I got was Abuse and snaky coments like so thats how you turd a Polish. Simple because I Have Modified my Car.

I modified it because after getting it their became more and more impreza's in my area and i wanted to be different. I wanted to Stand out. and in my opinion it does. I like it and i am happy with it. Thats all That Matters. If you do not like it then hey keep your opinions to yourself.

The same goes for Non turbo's if you do not like them then each to their own. Everyone has the right to have a car and make it look how they want it to not how everyone else wants it to look.
I mean if we all wanted our cars to look the same what would be the point. we would all be driving what looked like the same car. No fun in that.
We are all individual and as such should be treated as an individual with rights.
The right to have what they want and how they want it without others having a go.

Sadly it is not Just Subaru owners who act like this.
My previous car Was a Cavalier Turbo. and i Modified that. however when i started to do body modifications members of the Vauxhall forum started to slate it. But it looked how i wanted it too and i was Happy with it.

Then I sold it and Moved on to a Impreza which in comparison is Much slower. Ok mine is an Ra which should be Quick In fact it is Quick with 289Bhp at the wheels 335 at the flywheel. yet My cavalier turbo had 330 Bhp after i played with it. and it was proven 178Mph where as My Impreza only does about 130Mph. Of course i got from the vauxhall members ohh you have gone and got a much slower car. etc etc. but it is what i wanted. and i am happy with it.
Just as the Non turbo owners are happy with theirs.

Live and let live.

I must admit i am a Fully Paid member and since the slating of my Car i do not use the forum much. and I do not see me renewing my membership either.
Why ?

I do not Feel Welcome with the abuse about my car. I feel the other people are unfriendly with the way they treat the other users of the Forum.

Then why put it in the gallery? If you can't take the criticism then don't post the pics in the first place.
