most non-turbo owners give the old "i couldnt afford turbo insurance" but then go and spend £2000 on the ******* thing trying to get it looking and sounding and performing like a turbo. i just dont get it.

I just cannot see the point of the Sport myself. On the evidence of this thread it obviously drives the owners insane as well. Having to repeatedly tell people "er no it isn't actually a Turbo" and then justifying it to them makes the owners 'chipped' rather than the cars themselves

I also have a turbo and an even smaller **** - I bet mine is smaller than yours. But I have a dad who's a nutter so he should win any fight we can arrange. And I have a 49'er conker if that helps...

What a load of f**king B.S
It amazes me how you people can be so snotty on here over what is classed as a 'real' scooby and what isn't.
TBH it makes me ashamed to be an owner of a turbo one even if this is the general attitude.
If going quick is that important buy a R1 and have done with it.

The point is now, grow up and get over it, you can't buy a turbo 1, because you can't insure it 2, Mummy&Daddy won't let you have one, or 3, You could'nt take the power in the first place, personally I could'nt give a toss, 99% Of Turbo owners alway wave at sport owners, so go and get your nappy changed and let mummy powder your bits.

Does it make you a better person ???

This is one of the reasons imprezasport.net was created... We have a friendly bunch of people on their with a wide variety of impreza's including a few turbo owners who cant stand it on here...

Turbo facts:
1. They go much faster.
2. They are more expensive to run.
3. They are more expensive to insure.
4. They use more fuel.
5. They pin you to the seat with the acceleration.
6. They make lots of cool whooshing noises.
7. They make sucessful rallycars
8. They make others jealous.
9. I love the feeling as it comes on boost and the power rushes in!
I was bullied before I grew to be 6ft 2" / 18 stone and broke a few bones, I have a lovely wife called Samantha, I am already big, and from the tone of your post I must be A BETTER PERSON!
Now something you have missed is the SIZE of our Turbo's!
Sammyh has a much bigger one than me because he's got a Type 25 and therefore nearly 100bhp more! Do I worry? No I strive for one myself and in the meantime take some solace in the amount of cash he must repay the bankers!
So please - go and get some counselling for your inferiority complex / grow up / go and earn some more money to buy a Turbo and stop trying to gain some thinly veiled publicity for your Forum! We like it here ....

To be honest, impreza sport owners seem to get angry at the very thought of a turbo impreza being a little bit faster than theirs. That's your problem. Yes, the turbo IS a better car, thats why it costs more to run, insure, and BUY! That doesn't mean to say that the sport is pants, far from it. It is no different than buying a golf 1.4e and badge it a GTI. Both are good cars, but one is a bit better from a driver's point of view. Get over it, or blo*dy buy a turbo!

Classic case of Turbo envy!
Owning a Turbo....
It IS big,
It IS Clever,
I AM a better -if much less financially secure- person for owning one
and
Eet IS DIRTY and you WANT it!!
NS04
P.S. I still wave to sports, Gls, etc... The way I see it, they're all Scoobies. I think you'll find that apart from a bit of harmlesss banter, most turbo owners feel the same way!

This is mine ...........
Yes its a sport i was 19 when i bought it im now 20 , i added the wheels, spoiler,
bonnet lower bumper spoiler , full de-cat ninja exhaust system, sti interior, + more. looking at getting a turbo in about a year.
Im happy wioth my car at the end of the day i drive it no one else does , people always mistake it for a turbo if turbo owners at meets and stuff , ok has no turbo but speed isnt every thing , the people on ere who think there turbo is the bollocks and think that any other car including the sport is sh*t should wake up and grow up , there both the same car they both have SUBARU IMPREZA on the log book
It pisses me off reading topics like this as i think the scooby community is a really close and friendly community to be a part of.
Rant over

Isn't this like the Max Power brigade as well - having a car that look sthe part but sounds pants, and pulls away from the line.... well, like a Sport. Or being on a movei-set - then you stand in front of a big house and say this is mine, only there is no back or insides to it - it's just a facade! Sorry, but if you bought a Sport you should be happy with what you have..
Do people mistake it for a turbo when you continue to go slowly....?
